"Our family ordered from another restaurant and my daughter doesn't eat Chinese so I got the kids steak from Outback for her. The steak is very tiny, I doubt that it is a 5 oz steak. It was less than half the size of the baked potato. However, it was cooked just right and she liked it. They could be a little more generous with the butter for the potato and the roll. The fruit cup was 3 pieces of orange and 3 slices of strawberry... that's it. "The chicken in the southwest nachos was very dry and tasted like it was microwave reheated. I've had these nachos in the restaurant and the chicken was moist and fresh. Also, the chicken was very minimal, which ended up I guess being a good thing, because it was pretty gross tasting. There were a lot of dry tortilla chips in the pan once we ate the top chips. I would estimate a ratio of 70% dry chips with a few cheese drippings to 30% chips with toppings, and this was served in a large flat pan, so that's weird. I'm really not sure what happened here, but the restaurant should ask themselves how they can justify $20 for a bag of tortilla chips with a few handfuls of toppings and not expect us to realize it's different than what is served in the restaurant for dine in. "The store is called Nina's Waffles and Ice Cream right? Then why did neither of my waffles come with ice cream? There's not even an option to add a scoop of ice cream. Or even a "make your own waffle." On top of that, when our waffles arrived they were ROCK hard. We used steak knives to cut them up.
The premade options were limited and nothing sounded like something for me so I just ordered a plain waffle (praying it would come with ice cream for the price). For my plain waffle, I added strawberries ($1+) sprinkles ($.55) whipped cream ($1?) and cannoli cream ($2+). I was given MAYBE 2 strawberries cut up, about a teaspoon of cannoli cream, a small sprinkling of jimmies and 2 little dollops of whipped cream. It was all just plopped on there with no sense of pride or presentation.
My husband's apple pie waffle didn't come with ice cream even though the photo shows ice cream.. and again.. it's in the name of the store. Neither one of us was impressed by the flavors and certainly not by the dry stale tasting waffle. So disappointed.. it was one of those days where dessert could have made all the difference."
