"I have a very specific and limited lunch break, so I was unfortunately stuck eating a $21 salad that consisted of a box of soft lettuce, chewy, stale croutons, four anemic chicken strips (maybe 1\4 of a chicken breast) and about a teaspoon of flavorless dressing. The brisket onion soup was inedible. A room temperature cup of grease that was so salty I burned my mouth on it even though it wasn't hot. I didn't even know that could happen. No bread and a sad piece of greasy cheese about the size of a quarter floating around in it. I've lived here a long time and used door dash for years, and I've never left a bad review, but this was honestly the worst lunch I've ever had on this island. I ordered the tostadas, the crunchy taco special, and queso. I only wanted bean tostadas, but the order required me to select a protein, so I chose chicken. I even picked the food up myself, thinking that would ensure the tostadas and tacos were fresh and crunchy. I live only about four minutes away, but by the time I got home, everything was already soggy.
The tostadas had very little flavor and seemed to have more tomatoes and cheese than lettuce. The “crunchy” tacos were just as disappointing—they were soggy rather than crisp and lacked flavor as well.
The queso was another disappointment. It tasted sour and was surprisingly bland, with very little of the rich, cheesy flavor you expect from good queso. Between the soggy food and the sour-tasting queso, there really wasn’t anything about the meal that I enjoyed.
Both the tacos and tostadas were part of a buy-one-get-one-free special, but unfortunately, getting twice as much disappointing food didn’t make it a better deal.
Next time, I’ll stick with the food truck near Exxon. Their tacos and tostadas are made to order, fresh, crunchy, and packed with flavor. I really wanted to enjoy Taqueria Flores again, but this experience was a disappointment and definitely not worth the $40 I spent."
