The food was the worst I've ever gotten from Carl's. The chicken strips,just a bit larger than a competitor's Nugget were over fried to a deep burnt umber color and as hard as a rock. The fried were cold and hard as well. One burger was as expected. The other was disappointing swimming in ketchup and at least 1 of the Patties wasn't turned while cooking. It was only being so thin one could argue raw vs rare. pretty sad $35 for fast food. Not even able to add beverages because of costs and that is WITH a 50% off coupon. "I made the mistake of ordering wings during wing Tuesday. The wings are always smaller and low quality on these special days. I've noticed through the years their inconsistency has gotten a lot worse. I like the sauces but I don't know if I can keep supporting this place when there are 2 other wing spots in the same plaza that have better quality chicken. Also the veggies had gone bad. Definitely not worth the high cost."

"Chicken tenders were nice and crispy, and the size of them were massive. I got the hot level which was good enough to wake up my spice buds; would not recommend this heat level to those that struggle with spice. My worry with chicken fried at this size is whether it'll be dry, but each tender was juicy without sacrificing crispness . I got a side of fries which were also excellent. They use the same waffle cut fries as Chick-Fil-A, but I enjoyed these much more because of the crispiness these had as well. Also got the ranch and cluck sauce; cluck sauce was good, but the ranch was an amazing pairing with the hot and spicy chicken. Would suggest getting 3 ranches to pair with each pair of chicken. This is my favorite hot chicken place in OC now, and no one else is particularly close. "
