"This is my go to pho place due to the quality and size of the pho portions, BUT the last time I ordered I was severely disappointed. The pho had about half the food I'd normally get. Exactly 3 pieces of beef in the broth, and 3 slices in the bowl. It was unusually stingy.
Maybe it's because I ordered a lot of food, so they made the pho portion much smaller, but I was ordering food while I was sick so I could rely on it through the week. Usually one order of pho from them (with extra broth) lasts me 2-3 meals, but this was only one meal for me, and so my sick plan did not really work out. Not fun when you're down and out.
So, really disappointed by this last order. But the food quality is still great, and I'm hoping this was a fluke and not the new normal."

The former was very classic and satisfying, and the latter was very fresh with lots of bright and Very well-balanced flavors. The Crab Cake tasted great, but was much smaller than expected; the only item I had with a less than impressive portion size. The Mieng Kana Tofu tasted great, though did fell apart a bit during packing or delivery. The Lemongrass Fizz is a bit less "fizzy" than the name may imply, that said it tastes fantastic. It also works perfectly as a pallet cleanser, especially with spice; so if you are someone who struggles a bit with spice this would be a great companion to the spicier dishes. I also ordered the Chocolate Mousse Cake, haven't tried it yet but it was packaged well to hold form during travel, and it looks incredible.
Sauces were all in separate containers rather than mixed in, so everything arrived the right consistency, and tasted amazing. In my experience, the Portion sizes are decently large compared to most DC restaurants; an entree + appetizer would serve as a solid 2 meals.

The General's Chick'n was lackluster, not enough sauce, broccoli not charred/too undercooked, and no sauce on the broccoli or peppers -- just overpriced for the amount and quality of food. Will maybe give this place one more try, but only with a promo becuase it's pricy for what you get in my opinion. 3 stars is generous since my first experience was better than this by far. "
