"Disappointing. The chicharrón de rib eye was tiny, dry cubes that really didn't have a lot of flavor. Plus, they didn't include the tortillas that were in the description as included. The tortilla soup was okay, but there wasn't much to it. It was mostly bland broth, a very generous portion of white meat chicken, little to no vegetables, and soggy rice at the bottom. A lot of Mexican places will include chips or at least salsa, but these were absent. I probably will look for tortilla soup elsewhere next time, as well as chicharrones that are substantial, crispy, and flavorful."

"We've only dined-in once but were already sold on this classic, sparsely decorated, old school Mexican joint tucked back at the corner of the I-35 N feeder and Reinli St. based on the simple fact that they make the best Breakfast Tacos in town. Seriously. I know that's a bold statement but you have to try 'em before you fight me. I'm not sure what they do to make such a simple thing so dang good. Mass hypnosis? Voodoo? Human sacrifice? Don't know, don't really care. I just know they are sublime (it could be the tortillas - fluffy with nice char). As are the two salsas they offer (red and green). Whatever it is they are the best. The one time we dined-in was for breakfast and we made the conscious decision to order something other than tacos. Migas and Chiliquiles both rocked and should be added to your weekly routine as much as your diet will allow. In short, we can't sing the praises of this place enough. A++++"

"For the price the amount is great but the lack of flavor or odd flavor that I kept getting made it unenjoyable. The Enchiladas and beans had the odd flavor to it. The rice tasted old and reheated. Not my favorite probably won't try that again."

"I love El Patio. It's one of the originals still left in Austin. The new owners are family members so the recipes are the same as they have always been. I love their old style nachos - half tortillas with beans, protein, and cheese. I also like their chalupas; they're like my grandma's. I especially like how they package the chalupas, separating them from the lettuce and tomato so the tostada doesn't get soggy. I'm really glad they're still around."
