"The buttermilk Buttermilk Biscuit was yummy and larger than I thought it would be. It came with a strawberry spread instead of butter, which was fine, but I wasn't in the mood for strawberry so didn't try the spread. The Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Pancakes were good, too, although all the chocolate chips were in the middle of each pancake, and they did not put the chocolate drizzle or whipped cream on it as expected from the photo and description. The Cinnamon Dippers I did not like. First, I selected the option to have no cream cheese icing dipping cup because a lot of cream cheese has my allergen in it, and I wasn't sure if that meant they would send two caramel sauces instead. No, it meant they ONLY sent one cream cheese icing sauce! I tried to eat one plain and it was just a partly-hard fried dough ball (should have been softer than it was as I've had fried dough balls before), not a doughnut. "I've been aware of The Buttercup Cafe since their opening - they're located steps away from our post office in Barnstable Village - but never went in, figuring they're just another undistinguished breakfast and lunch joint. Then one very cold day recently I had a hankering for pancakes and bacon, but not for leaving a nice warm house, and so I ordered thru DoorDash. I like my meals just so, and gave them very specific instructions on preparation. When the order arrived I immediately saw that this place is not your average joint. They followed my instructions precisely - bacon arrived extra crisp and extra dry; pancakes without powdered sugar. Both were great - bacon as good or better than any I've had on the Cape, pancakes prepared the right way - fluffy, cooked just right. (Most places don't know how to make pancakes.) Buttercup is now one of my restaurant regulars. Very highly recommended. "

And a huge quantity that I couldn't quite finish after eating the appetizer. Halfway through I did add my own black pepper (oak wood smoked) for a bit of an enhanced taste, plus added some Aleppo pepper for a touch of heat (especially for my sinuses), but it was still good even without those.
