"Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.
The place is a Gem & Staff are Friendly & Obliging.
Highly recommend this ' Local Small Business' post Covid - 19 for genuine South Indian Cuisine !!!!"
"The VADAS( Fried Lentil DONUTS) were FANTASTIC, as was the Potato Filling in the DOSA CREPE wellspiced and not PUNGENT.
Ms.ASHA who answered the Fone was Polite and Aquirscent to work with my Special Needs.
They're a GREAT OLD BERKELEY VEG. SOUTH Indian Eatery w/ AUTHENTIC FARE !!!
Recommend...Coconut Chutney always "" FRESH & GOOD """ !!!!"

"Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. The Samosa Chaat was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet and the Chicken Tikka Masala was everything you'd want it to be.
The portions were smaller than expected, but I would much rather have quality over quantity. Will happily be ordering again! "
"Veggie Pakora (6pc) fell apart really easily and were a little dry and not super crunchy. Naan was tough and chewy. Rice was luke warm. The amount of chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala and the portion of Dal Makhani was pretty small, however, they tasted great!!"

"Punjabi Kadhi or Karhi is the best but there should be more at this price.
mooli Pratha is the second best and good buy!"
"The Naan is very good. The rest of the food is not worth the price.... you get a measly portion of the main along with a small portion of daal and a huge portion of plain rice and and some plain salad leaves. Rogan Josh meatballs only 2 medium sized HARD as rocks meatballs - NOT worth the price. Waste of money can't eat them. The biryani arrived with the yogurt spilled over half the biryani....it looks like the yogurt has spoiled and tasted sour. Had to eat around the rice that was doused in yogurt.
Their food is usually good the problem is mostly the packaging and maybe a bad day with the meatballs. Please improve your packaging and portion sizes."

"Samosa Chutney hit the spot! Huge, filled to the brim with perfectly complementary chutneys. Chicken Biryani is good with tender chunks of chicken. It's a tad richer than I'm used to but very good. If you're looking for an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than Noor! From the moment you step in, the warm and inviting ambiance, combined with the aroma of rich spices, transports you straight to India.
The food was exceptional! The dishes were velvety and bursting with mouthwatering flavors. The biryani was fragrant and perfectly spiced, the decadent desserts had just the right amount of sweetness, and the presentation was beautifully executed. Every dish was cooked to perfection, using high-quality ingredients and traditional homemade techniques.
The service was equally impressive--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff made excellent recommendations, ensuring we had the best experience possible.
With generous portions, reasonable prices, and an unforgettable dining experience, this place is a must-visit for Indian food lovers. Can't wait to return! Highly recommend!"

"The tiki chaat was covered in yogurt which is not advertised anywhere on their page. It's not mentioned on their website menu either. I scraped off a good chunk of these dishes because I didn't want to deal with an upset stomach from the dairy.
The entrees do not advertise they they do not include rice. Please update all of their entree categories to make this clear. I would have ordered rice if I had known I needed to.
The baingain was way too oily. I generally don't mind some excess oil from
A flavor point of view but this is too much and I ended up throwing it again
The okra and the chaat (aside from the huge pile of yogurt on top) were tasty and I will maybe order from here again if they update their page. Won't order the baingan again. "

"Ok. So, wasn't exoecting to really enjoy the Calcutta Chicken Hakka Noodles and the Chicken 65. Flavorful, and just spicy enough to enjoy it. Chicken Tikka Masala and naan were ok-to-good. Didn't disappoint, but didn't wow either. Overall, will definitely order from here, and probably will want to try some of their lesser known dishes. The quantity was quite generous for the price and overall, nicely packaged and presented well. "
"This was the first time we have ordered from Chandi. The food was good but lacked any spice. It would be nice if you could indicate spice level. Even the Lamb Vindaloo which is called "spicy" was more of a medium spice level. We liked the Saag Panner and the Chicken Tikka but again no option to choose a spice level. The food was well packed and arrived hot. Overall the food was good, a bit pricy, but good."

"I recently tried the Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set at 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine, and it was a great experience overall.
The Chicken Momo lapping was the highlight. The momos were soft, juicy, and well stuffed with flavorful minced chicken. The “lapping” style, covered in a rich, slightly spicy sesame based sauce, added a creamy and tangy kick that made the dish stand out. The sauce was balanced not too spicy, but enough to give a nice warmth. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing, although I could easily finish it myself because it was that good.
The Khana set felt like a complete and comforting meal. It came with rice, dal, vegetable curry, chicken curry, achar, and salad. The rice was fresh and fluffy. The dal was simple yet comforting, with a homestyle Nepali flavor. The chicken curry was tender and well cooked, with spices blended nicely without being overpowering. The achar added the perfect spicy and tangy contrast to the meal. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, just like traditional Nepali home cooking.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely recommend 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine for anyone craving authentic Nepali and Indian food, especially their Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set. I will definitely be going back again."
"The Dahl Tadka tasted like thickened grease fat from the bottom of the pan, like you would use to make buskits and gravy. It had no flavor other than fat and salt. I ordered two in hopes that it would be great, but couldn't eat either of them.
I have never had such an experience with any Indian Dahl dish before .
The soup was very tasty and the broth flavorful. I hoped to have it mild as I was recovering from surgery and was supposed to avoid spicy food. I'll order the soup again when I'm feeling better"

"LITTI CHOKHA and Dahi Vada Chaat both were amazing. Loved the authentic taste."
"I was looking forward to the food because of all the great reviews! I ordered delivery due to recovering from a medical procedure. I wanted to treat myself because of having gone through all that.
The chicken biryani is supposed to come with a whole Cornish hen --- it literally says this on their menu. The TINY container only included a quarter of that. It was so sad-looking. I had imagined that even if they couldn't fit the whole hen, that they would maybe split it into at least two containers? I would've expected more for a menu item that cost $32. It was also supposed to include garlic raita, which was nowhere to be seen.
I also got the much-raved-about Alleppey fish & prawn curry ($34), which similarly left much to be desired. The gravy here actually didn't taste that different from the biryani's korma sauce.
Disappointed in what feels like lesser quality and care when it comes to folks who aren't able-bodied enough to eat at the restaurant. If you're ordering to-go/delivery, definitely DO NOT order the chicken biryani or the fish and prawn curry. You'll wish you saved the money/Doordash credits. I don't think I'd order from here again. "Absolutely loved this place! It’s family-owned and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors—just wow. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that was an absolute explosion of flavor, the kind that lingers in the best way. The naan was perfectly soft and buttery, great for scooping up all the extra sauce from the generous Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and easily enough to satisfy two people. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend! Even spoke with owners daughter to share how amazing it was! Thank you! "

"Today, I ordered Vegetable Pakora , the taste was amazing and flavorful.
They are using compost containers.
This was very first time I ordered online however, I had dine previously and had a Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, Daal Makhni, Maggi, Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan and everything was so delicious and fresh.
The portions are shareable.
I would love to go there again and again.
Their outdoor seating and free parking is the best thing."
"Ordered takeout from here and the food was excellent. The chicken tikka masala was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. "we ordered Chana Masala, Mushroom Mutter, Roti, and Basmati Rice.
Both main dishes were extremely bland-very little flavor and zero spice-the garbanzos in the Chana were undercooked. The rice had way too much cumin and unfortunately had more flavor than either of the main courses. totally out of balance. the roti was also undercooked. absolute swing and miss.
and this is just Delhi Diner with a "vegan" ghost kitchen front. Avoid!"

"Best biryani in America!
I immigrated from India to US 12 years ago and have tried a lot of South Asian food across the country and haven't had a biryani this juicy, this perfectly seasoned, and this delicious in a very long time. It's the perfect flavor and texture. I have devoured it using my hands every time I've ordered it. My family is from Lucknow and I lived in Hyderabad for a while so I'm very picky about my Biryani and this has finally hit the spot."
"Wasn't the most appealing area to grab food from but they say the spots with bad locations usually are amazing, sadly it wasnt the case with this restaurant
Food was piping but still raw , lasii tastes very dry and bitter ,biryani was most likely sitting all day for them to reheat it for me , u can tell when biryani is fresh and when its reheated , staff were all nice but a lil bit of confusion when ordering all in all id give it a 3.5 / 10 "

"I recently tried the Chicken Momo and Malai Kofta, which were delicious! The Chicken Momo was packed with flavorful, juicy chicken filling and perfectly seasoned, and the dumpling wrappers had just the right texture—soft with a light chew. The accompanying dipping sauce was a tangy delight, complementing the momos beautifully.
On the other hand, the Malai Kofta was rich and creamy, with soft, melt-in-your-mouth koftas that absorbed the aromatic gravy to perfection. The sauce was luscious, balanced with mild spices and sweetness, making every bite comforting and indulgent.
Both dishes were well-prepared and presented; the flavors left a lasting impression. I highly recommend trying these for a satisfying meal"

"One of our dishes we ordered extra spicy (was great!) and the other was mild (came a bit too spicy). I called the store, not to complain, just to let them know.
