" We used to have a lot of Schlotzsky's delis in Memphis, TN, but one day it seemed like they all went out of business except for the original store on Poplar Avenue near Perkins. My family and I moved to Germantown and eventually stopped going there to eat. Fast forward 50 years. The store is still standing, the fantastic bread 🍞 is still baked fresh every day, and the meat is still premium. Everything was delicious and well-packed. I've ordered it for myself and family several time since, and the last two orders have not been as good. First, they started packing the pasta salad into a small cup, and the pasta salad has been dry and gummy. Second, today my steak sandwich was delivered with gravy and mushrooms on the side, which I did not request. It wasn't convenient for me to assemble my own sandwich. Previous orders of this came assembled and notably well done for a saucy sandwich. I would've been embarrassed to serve today's delivery to guests.
