"This place has some really terrible reviews, especially on Google, so I was extremely hesitant to press the button to confirm my order after racking up $150 in goodies for my family of five; but since moving to Citrus County, I've tried every other place in town, and I haven't found a single one I've liked. But, then again, the last time I ordered DoorDash, I got 4 bowls from WaWa and that was $65, so I guess it is what it is. Anyway, back to the food: IT IS DELICIOUS! Being from Fort Lauderdale, I think I might be pickier than most, but THIS is what I'm accustomed to. It tasted like "home, sweet home!" Fresh, hot, and all the portions and flavors were spot-on. So, look, I think the negative reviews probably came from people who only leave reviews when things don't go their way, or who want something for free, or even worse, the kind of people who consider Panda Express "good takeout." Yes, some of the reviews literally make that comparison. I would definitely ignore those people. I never leave reviews unless a place really knocks my socks off, and that's exactly what the people at New China did last night. I have no idea who they are and can't say anything else about them, except to say that my experience ordering from them through DoorDash here was exceptional. In a world where a couple of WaWa bowls cost half as much as a full Chinese dinner, this place is worth every penny and I will definitely order again because this is officially my new "go to." "This is the best Chinese restaurant in citrus county. The food tastes wonderful with large portions. Our food was hot and you can tell they used fresh ingredients. I will order again. My husband ordered the shrimp and veggies which had large shrimp with fresh veggies. I ordered the sesame chicken which was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and very tasty. I also ordered the chicken noodle soup. The BEST SOUP ever! Hot, perfectly seasoned and the noodles are "chef's kiss"! We love this Chinese restaurant and will never go to any other in this county."

We wished that China Gourmet would have written on the box ( that rice is usually served in) what was inside it when it is other than rice, that would have saved an embarrassing call. We thought it was more rice. Also, if the Krab (imitation crab) wasn't like very old, worn out mushy tasteless things, the complaint would not have been necessary. If they'd have used fresh ones, or stirred fresher ones at the end of making it. Those were in the "Happy Family" dish....along with more scallops. I think there were about 3 or 4 in the large order. Almost missed them! The only other thing was that there were maybe five little shrimps in a bucket of celery in another dish. Had those two items been 'switched' in number, it would have been great. The clearish, white sauce it came in was quite tasty though. Had these things been top notch, I wouldn't have had to write ALL of this stuff. But I needed to explain best I could. The remaining items -- egg rolls, egg drop soup, and house egg foo yong were pretty good. Because they deliver is a great thing too. Seems like Chinese delivery is hard to find, at least in the Homosassa FL area. The order did make it to our house hot and fast, kudos for that! "

"This isn't traditional Pasta Salad it was made with egg noodles and not twist pasta and had olives only no onion, carrots, celery, or mustard seed nothing else at all just Italian dressing. This is the 3rd time I've ordered from here and it's time to say I'm very disappointed with the food. I've tried the Ruben it was so messy i couldn't eat it, I've tried the steak and cheese which is ok I've had better. This time I ordered a cheese calzone with meatballs. The meat was barely there it looks cut into small pieces and scarcely spread, there was not enough meat to complement the Cheese Calzone. I can understand cutting a meatball in 1/2 to accommodate the calzone but to cut into little bits isn't acceptable.
