(As he wanted...too many local places don't REALLY make Thai Spicy food) The Mussamun curry (Ordered as a medium spice) was flavorful, creamy and just the right level of spice...nice warmth but not too hot for my sensitive stomach. "This was one of the worst dinners I've ever experienced at a Chinese restaurant. Eggrolls: I have no idea how they could call these eggrolls. When I took them out of the wax paper wrapper, my fingers got soaked with oil. They were not completely fried. When I bit into one of them, there was barely any filling. Most of it was cabbage and maybe some carrots. I did see a LOT of the rolled wrapper...there was more wrapper than ingredients. Among the worst eggrolls I've ever had. Hot and Crispy Beef: VERY oily...strange taste. This was strips of beef that appeared to be battered and in a brown sauce. This was NOT hot (spicy), which it what I thought Hunan cuisine was supposed to be. There was a LOT of oil in the sauce. I had been hoping this dish was like the "dry-fried beef" that I've eaten in Chinatown in NYC and San Francisco...thin strips of beef that are fried (most likely deep fried) with no batter, with thinly sliced celery and carrots. The 'dry-fried' beef doesn't have a sauce, but rather a glaze. I was disappointed in Hunan Garden's dish. It was not flavorful at all. Beef with Orange Flavor: I think I got gipped on the beef in this dish. There was maybe 8 or 9 slices of battered, deep-fried beef. I think I saw one little piece of orange peel. This dish seemed to have more oil than sauce. There were some pieces of broccoli that were sitting soaking up the oil. When I was cleaning up later there were clumps of ... well not sure ... perhaps cornstarch at the bottom of the container. Fried Rice: This was probably the best tasting of the experience. Lots of pork, bean sprouts, and other fried rice ingredients. But even this dish suffered from being way too dry. It's like it needed more sauce (NOT oil). It could have used some more soy sauce. I doubt I would give this restaurant another chance, unless they compensated the meal and tried to improve what I ate last night! "

Thank god the Peanut sauce served with both the Beef Satay & the Chicken Satay was the same, because that was the second best tasting item we ordered besides the Crab Rangoon! "The food is mediocre at best. There are a couple of high points and some low points. The high points was the hot and sour soup. Very rich and tasty. It could have had a bit more hot spice to it, but overall very good. The pork lo mein was good, but not great. I've had lo mein at other restaurants in the area that have MUCH more meat than this one did. Also, for the price, the container didn't have as much lo mein as other restaurants in the area. The two eggrolls were soggy and all I tasted was the wrapper. There didn't seem to be much filling in them. The hot and crispy beef *would* have been good, but by the time it arrived it was stuck together and all "gooped" up with corn starch so the sauce was a like a thick covering rather than a slight glaze or a typical sauce loose sauce. I ordered a side of pork fried rice and while it was not bad, again, it lacked pork and since I paid a premium to have PORK fried rice rather than white rice (free) or plain fried rice, I feel like I got ripped off. This restaurant is typical of the area's Chinese restaurants. There really isn't a *great* Chinese restaurant in this area. I'm not sure why there can't be a restaurant here that offers other types of dishes. If you want really good Chinese food, check out Full Kee on Horsepen Road in Richmond. It's a bit more expensive, but multiples times better than anything in the Fredericksburg area."

Salmon Roll was not what was pictured, just a chunk of salmon in the center of a rice roll then held together with seaweed. Spicy Tuna Roll didn't have much flavor at all, usually 1 of my fav rolls but this was a let down. Spicy Crab Roll was good, more flavor and "spice" than the spicy Tuna. I was disappointed in the small amount of wasabi provided for 3 rolls, it was barely what I would expect to get for 1, plus the 3 rolls were for 3 different people so it bugged me that they were packed in 1 container. The Yum Yum sauce wasn't bad but wasn't the flavors I expected. I'd order again, some repeats but definitely need to find the right roll to replace my go to spicy tuna next time."
