"I can go on and on about my favorite Italian restaurant, this is the best place to get over settle your pasta cravings. I have ordered here for years, Belotti has my heart and that's no exaggeration.
The portions are incredibly small, so I would say order two favorites depending on your appetite. Two orders are great for my wife and I to share since we get a little bread and wine.
Pappardelle and Agnolotti are our favorites to get but we have tried the red sauces plates and they were just as great too.
You can't go wrong with whatever you order, this pasta is truly made with care. "
"In a word: Extraordinary.
I almost didn't order from this place the first time because multiple people said the portions were smaller than they expected. I have news for you: the portions are exactly right. This is fresh, artisanal, rich pasta - not your corner mass-produced Italian joint pasta. It reminds me of pasta I have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurant tasting menus at Babbo in NYC or Giacomo's in Boston. Each dish is so different flavor profile-wise, too. All delicious, all expertly crafted. And as I said, it's rich and very filling.
I've ordered 7-8 different pasta dishes now and all have been superb, but the standouts for our finnicky family so far are the Gnocchi Alla Bolognese (tender, exquisite favor-packed pillows!), the Lasagna alla Bolognese, the Agnololotti di Lidia, and the Fagottini Ricotti e Spinacci. Honesty, it's hard to choose because if you love mushrooms the Papardelle is to die for. The salads are unique and so delicious. And for dessert the Tiramisu won't disappoint, but the Panna Cotta is such a light and flavorful surprise paired with its raspberry sauce topping!
All of it is well packaged and arrives piping hot.
I have avoided leaving this review until now because I was selfishly afraid they'd get TOO popular and would book up... but tonight I was blown away yet again and just had to give them the stellar review they deserve. "I've only tasted Mama's Boy Pizza twice (I must admit, twice in less than a week ).. yes...it was that good. I typically wait to review until I've tried a new place a handful of times over at least a month or two and at least 1x in the restaurant however the pizza, Chopped Salad and homemade Ranch were so good I'm confident saying that this is the best NY style pizza and one of the very best pizza joints in the Bay Area. The chopped salad was fantastic, extremely fresh lettuces, the ceci beans (aka chickpeas), red wine vinegrette were the perfect compliment to the lovely variety of lettuces. An addition of crumbled feta cheese in lieu of the finely shaved parm would be amazing but it is delicious just as is. I typically order a small vegetarian pie for myself and a medium or large meat pie for my partner but Mama's Boy 20" pizzas are so big and filling we went for a half and half and we both had leftovers. Tip to perfectly reheat pizza, heat oven to 400F, put cast irin pan or pizza stone in oven while preheating, when tempreture is set, place pie in oven for 5 minutes & you'll have a perfectly heated slice that has a crisp not limp crust!
My only complaint when ordering delivery online there isn't an option to select one of their pizza combinations as a half pie so I was instructed to select a 20" Cheese Pie and then select my desired toppings for either the 1st half, 2nd half and/or whole pie. The only down side to ordering this way is that even if you mirror each half as one of their menu item pies (i.e.veggie & supreme) the pie ends up costing substantially more than the cost of any of their menu item pies. Hopefully, this can be fixed to enable ordering of menu item pies as a 1/2 pie without paying an extra $20+ to the cost of their menu item pies. Even a $5.00 flat rate charge for a half and half order of menu item pies w be preferable. Whether eating in or ordering delivery, Mama's Boy Pizza is a must try!"
