The 4 Taco Meal tacos were good, but the steak street taco upgrade wasnt worth it because it was tough and had a strange meaty taste. The chicken, ground beef, and shrimp was good. Chips & Salsa were good- chips not house made but the salsa was tasty! The Elote (street corn side) was not good- I'm not used to it tasting sour, very sour! We're not from this area, but I'm used to it being creamier and sweeter, but this one was really sour, maybe they put the wrong seasoning on top?? If you're going to order, the chicken Quesadilla and Gringo taco are sure wins! I would order again, but no Elote or steak street tacos. We ended up getting BOGO on both meals through a door dash deal, so the value was fair. The packing and containers was A+!"

"The birria tacos were good, but the consommé ("Conzome") lacked flavor. They forgot my rice. Also the sauces were not spicy. I think their target audience is people who cannot handle much spice. "Fronteras is one of the best Mexican food spots in Palatine. The owner runs a clean shop with fresh ingredients and fire grilled meats for every order. I would compare Fronteras to a fresher, more authentic version of Chipotle. When you order in the store, you choose your ingredients and protein before they turn around and grill the meat fresh on the spot, most of the time I've been there anyway.
We moved to Palatine in April 2025 and have been happily returning here at least on a monthly basis. I prefer the arrachera burrito with habanero salsa and red salsa. "I was a little disappointed this time. in the past, the food was just delicious. This time, the meat proportions were significantly smaller. The food was fairly tough. The beans and rice now shared 1 compartment rather than the 2 compartments, one for rice and one for beans. The carton has been tipped, so there was some spillage but that happens. The tacos had no other toppings as in the past, just meat. Their service fee is around $8. Paying for the privilege of eating their food. I guess their prices aren't high enough on their own.
For one small meal, the cost of over $50, and if you add chips (which should be included free), the cost for one meal is $60.00. (including a drink and the best flan in the world).
We chose to cut out the chips to keep the meal below $65.00. We have taken them off our list. Really disappointed. Why do good eateries get so greedy? They just lose customers"
