"First time trying Sals, I like the NY theme and they get points for having Black and white cookies but for the price the pizza was not good enough even from a Southern California perspective ( not known for our pizza, good spots aren't that common). I'd give it a pass if it wasn't pushing the NY presentation but because it is I have to judge accordingly. My Dads side of the family is from Bronx/yonkers so I grew up visiting there and Jersey and also scouting out the good local places in SD and OC. The biggest issue was the crust, I ordered well done and got undercooked floppy pizza, crust didn't have much of a taste either. Wasn't much sauce on it so didn't really notice what it tasted like it was so subtle. Cheese was good quality though and tasty. "

It came with a side salad with inedible dressing (tasted like ketchup & yogurt???) and about 5 lbs of rice. Enough rice for 6 people. Recommend the chicken Kabob Plate 2 Person instead. The chicken was good. The rice was good but way too much. This is my 2nd time at this place. I paid extra $ for half salad on the chicken kabob plate last time and didn't realize until I got home that they didn't give me any salad. I figured it was a one off so I ordered pickup again. The order was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes, I cancelled it after waiting an hour. I mistakenly gave them another shot bc it's on my way home from work. Won't do it again. "

"This is our latest favorite. We've brought family and friends here and everyone seems to like it. Our favorites are Antonellos and Forettis and this has many dishes we can't get anywhere else. The handmade pasta with flour from Italia takes care of our gluten concerns and makes the best pasta by far. The salad are always excellent. The pizza is surprisingly good...most of the time a fine restaurant like this won't do well at pizza...this is the exception.
