"First time having Idly Vada Combo & it was very good! The idly was very spongy & a lot bigger than i thought. The vada was very crispy and that was my favorite. One vada & idly was enough to fill me up. The sambar had very good light curry flavor. Coconut chutney was not my fave but the other red chutney was good.i wish there was more of that one. "
"If you are looking for uncompromised, authentic Indian food that hasn't been toned down for local tastebuds, this is it. Exceptional quality and zero compromises on flavor. Our highlights:
Ghee Mini Podi Idly (5/5): Absolutely spectacular. They leave a rich, lingering flavor in your mouth long after you're done.
Thatte Idly (5/5): Incredibly soft, and melt-in-your-mouth perfect.
Vadai (from the VIP Combo) (5/5): Beautifully crispy on the outside without being greasy.
Onion Uthappam & VIP Combo (5/5): Perfectly executed comfort food.

"If I could give 6 stars I would.
I ordered the mango keshari and bisebela bhat while I was trying to recover from fever, and the food was just perfect.
Not too spicy and delivered SO HOT that I didn’t need to reheat anything.
Not to mention, the prices are also reasonable.
Thank you Madurai Idli Kadai for being one of the best south indian restaurants in the bay area, even for delivered food! Please don’t change."

"Curd Rice was delicious, best of home cooking, very comforting, just perfect for a snack or late-night easy meal. Vadas were crispy and delicious, although undersalted. Puliyodharai was a huge disappointment, I did not enjoy it at all. It was very one-note with the sour tamarind masking every other flavor. Podi Dosa was, as always, crispy, thin, and delicious!"
"These 14 mini idlis were absolutely perfect for a South-Indian comfort meal. Soft, fluffy, and served steaming hot with a flavorful sambar and two chutneys — one coconut, one tomato. The sambar had just the right spice balance and depth; it didn’t feel oily or heavy at all.
As a vegetarian, this is the kind of dish that hits home — light, nourishing, and authentic. The mini-idli format makes it fun and easy to eat, and you can taste that the batter’s well-fermented and freshly steamed.
Verdict: Ideal for breakfast, lunch, or even a light dinner when you crave something homely and satisfying."

"Sambar Rice 16oz (BisiBelaBath) Ghee (Non Vegan) they are doing a buy one get one, but it's not really a deal. Each container is worth 5 bucks max. No vegetables in the dish, no pickles, they give ONE teeny tiny raita container. For this to be a deal, it's should be $5 for two. Taste is pretty average."

"I've been coming to this place for a long time and never had an experience like this. The chicken tikka masala was watery. The rice did not seem like basmati rice, it seemed more like plain white rice. I only got five pieces in my mixed pacora and the pioneer pecora was super dried out. "This place was a rip off. I asked for 2 garlic naan breads and 1 butter naan bread and I got nasty rolled up wheat tortillas. Then the rice thali which looks like an abundance of food in the plate in photo, came in a salsa container. The 3 piece mirchi bajii was horrible. The lemonade was NOT lemonade . It tasted like a bunch of salt was poured in gelly water and I almost threwup. Rosemilk didnt taste good at all nor the badam milk. This was the wors t food I ever got. Food was not what was shown. Their soft whole wheat chapatis, ladoos, Mysore pak, everyday thali, and pillow soft idlis are just a few of my favorites. What I love most, though, is how comforting their food feels. On long, exhausting days, a meal from Komala Vilas feels a little like home and always helps ease the homesickness."
"If you’re craving a solid South Indian meal, Komala Vilas understood the assignment.

"4 DOSA BALL for a price of $9.99- such a scam. Also they were so oily, didn't eat after one bite, just small balls of potato, dosa batter was minimum, so call it potato balls! Moving on to the Rajouri Garden Chana Bhatura- really?! Has the chef eaten Rajouri Garden Chana Bhatura?? Not even close, to the taste. You should simply call it chana bhature, not Rajouri Garden Chana Bhatura, the taste is decent but the bhaturas somehow were bitter. They were very fluffy and to ny surprise not oily like the dosa balls, but there was a bitterness in them. But overall chana bhatura was decent-3.5/5. Comes with onion salad, pickle and raita."

"The quantity of sambar with Vijaywada Idly (3 Pcs) and Madras Masala Dosa wasnt enough. Like their Madras Masala Dosa"
"The biryani had only peas and carrots, would have been much better with a greater variety of vegetables. Also the rice was undercooked and quite hard for my liking. The Gobi Manchurian was okay in terms of flavor, but it turned out really soggy.

"Entree dishes came in 16oz containers.
Butter chicken has great flavor. Sauce is nice and rich, and the mild is not spicy.
The croquette dish only had 3 croquettes in it. I was hoping for the price there would be like 4 to 5. Sauce is good, the mild version has a bit of spiciness.
You haveto order the rice separately if you want it with your meal. It does not come with it.
Overall the flavor of the food is really good. I would order again. "

"Vada Pav( 2 pc ) is tasty as always."
"I’ve always loved ordering from Swaraj Food Truck, especially their vada pao, dahi puri, and pao bhaji. They’ve been my go-to for great Indian street food, but unfortunately, today’s experience wasn’t as enjoyable as usual.
The dahi puri, which is usually a favorite, was disappointing today. The golgappa/puris were very thin and different from the ones I typically get. As I added the ingredients, they started leaking and eventually everything was out from the bottom.
As for the vada pao, usually the best in the Bay Area, it was overly oily today. I could actually smell the oil, and the vada was too greasy. Couldn' eat it today.
