"So the food was average. The 21b. Scallion Pancakes were really cooked(maybe left too long in the pan) and greasy. The 95. White Meat General Tso's Chicken was tasty. Sauce was excellent. You really get alot of chicken in this portion with a side of white rice. The 38. Pork or Chicken Fried Rice option, I selected the Small Pork Fried Rice. It was a little underwhelming, not alot of flavor, especially for the price. The food was not hot(delivery was about 10 mins), which is abnormal for a Chinese Takeout restaurant. Slightly disappointed, expected more from the pictures and ratings. "

"I’m just not really sure what gourmet about this place. I find the food to be mediocre at best, and the prices are absolutely astronomical for what you were given. People rave about the chicken lettuce wraps, and I agree that it was the best thing that I received. But it’s basically just moo shu chicken with a bunch of iceberg lettuce on the side (and the lettuce is not even cleaned well; I had to rinse them in the sink to get dirt off). I also got BBQ spare ribs which had very little meat on them. It was not worth the money and very hard to gnaw the measly portion off the bones. I ordered shrimp lo mein thinking that the shrimp would be of higher quality than the typical Chinese takeout place, but the shrimp were extremely overcooked and too tough to chew, so I ended up not eating the shrimp. On top of that, there wasn’t a vegetable in sight. I’m used to seeing green onions, mushrooms, and the occasional piece of broccoli or carrot in lo mein, and this was just noodles with impossible to eat shrimp. The last thing I got was chicken with broccoli which was mediocre at best. The pieces of chicken were admittedly gigantic (3+ bites per piece) and pounded so thin that they were extremely dry, but the brown sauce was good, and that is something that I find is lacking elsewhere. But, for these 4 things, I spent over $100. I really find that to be unconscionable, even in today’s inflated economy. This was the last of 3 chances that I’ve given to this restaurant, both in person and via delivery. I think I’ll stick with the more mediocre Chinese food options that we have in Monmouth county. At least they don’t PRETEND to be “gourmet”."
