"This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I was really disappointed with the food. The platter was so overly spicy that all I could taste was heat—I couldn’t enjoy any of the actual flavors. It was so spicy that I ended up leaving the entire platter and all of the rice untouched.
The fish was edible, but it was very bland and lacked seasoning or flavor. It’s frustrating to spend money on a meal that I couldn’t even enjoy.
The one positive thing I can say is that the portions were very generous. Unfortunately, a large portion doesn’t make up for food that isn’t enjoyable to eat. I really think this meal could have been much better."

The assorted meat....everything about this was fantastic. The portions were good, and I already know what I’ll be ordering the next time I come to Philly.
However, the jollof rice was disappointing… My 12 yr old can make better in her sleep. It was undercooked (and I do not eat soft rice) and tasted like someone just threw some oil, red coloring, salt, and rice into a pot. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that the order was later in the day, because for a place that makes such amazing Gbegiri & Ewedu, and had great reviews for their Jollof rice, this must be an anomaly. When I visit Philly again, I’ll order it one more time to confirm."

"I’ve tried quite a few Indian restaurants, and Curry Leaf Indian and Nepali Cuisine is the only one that keeps bringing me back. In fact, this is the second time I’ve ordered the exact same combination: chicken biryani, vegetable samosas, raita, and gulab jamun.
The chicken biryani is excellent. What makes it stand out are the cashews and golden raisins mixed throughout the rice. They add a wonderful balance of textures and flavors—crunchy, sweet, savory, and aromatic—making the dish feel more complex and satisfying than your typical biryani.
The vegetable samosas are equally impressive. The pastry is fried to perfection: golden, crisp, and wonderfully crunchy without feeling greasy. They’re the perfect starter or snack alongside the biryani.
For dessert, the gulab jamun is absolutely delicious. Soft, rich, and soaked in sweet syrup, it’s like biting into a delicate sponge filled with honeyed goodness.
Don’t skip the raita. This cool yogurt-based accompaniment is the perfect complement to the biryani. It balances the spices beautifully and ties together the crunch of the cashews and the sweetness of the raisins, creating a harmonious bite every time.
I also appreciate the value. This order easily lasts me four meals, making it an excellent deal for both quality and quantity.
