I also ordered a couple of specialty slices—the Baked Ziti Slice had the perfect ratio of ziti to crust. The crust maintained its structural integrity, which meant I could eat like a slice without dumping half of it into my lap. I also really enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Slice - the pepper wasn't the usual Frank's red hot, but it had a homemade flavor. Finally, the Garlic Knots were some of my fav. The Fried Calamari is crispy, not very oily, and has substance. Topping it off with lemon makes it pop. The sauce is robust, sits on the tongue well, and is juicy without being very acidic at all. I wish there was a way to order or include more.
The Pear Salad is fresh and balanced. The pears taste like Christmas, the candied walnuts are fun, and the lettuce and gorgonzola are crisp and fresh. The dressing is great but not necessary with all the above elements. It is a personal choice.
Portions are great. My partner and I are were able to split both items and have leftovers for the day after.
Note: you may want to either air fry or stick the Fried Calamari in the oven to reheat so it doesn't get soggy."

"I really wanted to give them 5 stars but it's an easy fix. The place is nice, big, and clean. The staff is friendly and the portions are definitely fair for the price. My only issue is taste. While the breaded chicken hero was good, the breading needs to be seasoned. It was just a little bland. The cook on the chicken, toppings, and quality of bread were perfect. On the chicken parm hero (H-1) it was the same issue. Also make sure the marinara sauce completely covers the chicken. I will definitely return in the future because these were minor issues.
***On a side note. This might just be a Door Dash thing. When customizing sandwiches on the menu, have an option for No Cheese. Sometimes people like a chicken cutlet hero with no cheese. ***"

"I have ordered from Uncle Joe's many times and been satisfied. Today, Mother's Day, the food was extremely disappointing. Chicken parm had no mozzarella at all, eggplant parm had a small piece of mozzarella on top but did not look fried at all...no bread crumbs and the color was unappealing. The linguine with clam sauce (which I ordered with capellini instead) was a sloppy mess and most of the white sauce leaked into the bag leaving the pasta dry.

They found this restaurant & pizzeria immediately, lots & lots of recommendations from the neighbors at the gated 55+ community where they bought a retirement home. I've honestly never heard a bad word about this eatery. IMHO, the ONLY bad thing is they're closed 2 days a week, Mon. & Tues. 🥺 You want a quick slice at lunch or a casual meal with your kids? You go to the right, the pizzeria side. Order there & sit in the pizza parlor or pick up your take-out order, pay & go. Would you rather have a nice, long, boozy, delicious dinner with friends or a romantic evening with a loved one? Then, you go in the left doors, the restaurant. It's beautifully decorated, dim ambient lighting, candles on the tables, big or small. Surprisingly, it's also rather private & quiet in the dining area, considering there is also a lively bar area at the back of the restaurant with a jukebox. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are some small cafe tables, maybe booths, in the bar area for apps., snacks, those drunken noshes we've all craved, IF you drink, that is. Of course, most importantly though, the food is absolutely divine. It's definitely some of the BEST Italian food I've ever had the pleasure of indulging in. And, I've lived in the city, on & off, since the 1980's, when I was about 12yo. Spending decades living & eating in NYC, you get spoiled. Great food is on every block & around every corner! La Volpe is up there with my all-time favorites in Manhattan. La Volpe or Anton's pizza is a must try if you're in the area, you WILL NOT be disappointed!"
