"We just moved from Tracy to Manteca and we didn't want to drive to Tracy just to have sushi, so we were on the hunt for a local place to become our new favorite. We went to Matsu Sushi first because it seemed to have the best reviews and the type of special sushi rolls we like to get and I was not disappointed. We ordered the 5. Philadelphia Experiment and a roll with soft shell crab tempura inside and eel sauce that I forgot the name of... both were delicious. The fish smelled fresh (no fishy smell) and tasted clean too. We dined in but arrived around 5-10 minutes before 2:00 and told the server (may have also been the owner or manager) that we just wanted to start with the 2 rolls and our drinks but were told that if we wanted anything else we would have to order it at that time because they were taking last orders to prepare for closing at 2:30 until dinner. We felt a bit rushed at that point (but it ended up being plenty of time for the two of us to eat 2 rolls) and customers who arrived around 2:15 were turned away. At the very least, I think they could have offered that customer the option of ordering "to go", but they didn't even get the opportunity to say whether they wanted take out or dine in. I feel it would be better just to say you close at 2:00 and plan on 30 minutes to close out customers and lock up rather than saying you close at 2:30 when you actually stop taking orders before that. We usually like the option to order additional rolls when we eat sushi because it's hard to know how filling it will be if you haven't eaten there before and sushi does not make good leftovers if you over order, but it's not a big deal now that I know when they stop taking orders...I just won't go there after 1:30 for lunch. However, I can see this being frustrating for customers who get turned away or rushed through a meal, so I thought I'd mention it. The service was quick though and the rolls were tight and held up to dipping into soy with chopsticks without falling apart and losing half the rice. I've returned twice by myself, once for dine in and once for takeout, because I kept craving the 5. Philadelphia Experiment since my husband got the lions share of it the first time. It's a Philadelphia Roll (salmon, cream cheese, cucumber) that is tempura'd and deep fried, then topped with spicy tuna. All of the ingredients are raw and cold aside from the tempura coating which was warm enough to just slightly soften the cream cheese and make the bite have an addictive creaminess. I really loved all the different textures in this roll. I will warn against getting any rolls with tempura for take out or delivery though and recommend dine in for those. I only live 8 minutes away and arrived for pickup before my order was even complete and it still lost the crisp texture on the tempura and the tempura wasn't warm anymore so I learned my lesson, but I can't fault a restaurant for that. I even went as far as to open the plastic take out lid (it wasn't vented) so steam could escape in an attempt preserve the texture, which I'm sure helped a lot, but it wasn't enough. Dining in has cheaper prices anyway, so it's worth it if you like the tempura rolls or even regular tempura shrimp and veggies. "Although I have ordered delivery from De Colores several times, I decided to pick up my order this morning, because I had never actually been to the restaurant before. I was so surprised by the quality of the establishment! The exterior is nice and welcoming with a clean parking lot and an outside patio area. However, I was extra impressed by the interior, which I found to be wonderfully appointed and decorated. I loved seeing the paintings, photos, murals, and old rifles. There’s also plenty of seating for a restaurant of this size and a nice bar. So, make sure to bring your friends and family. The gentleman who greeted me was extremely friendly and told me a bit about the history of the business and the old rifles, which I loved learning about. He also mentioned that they have karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm-midnight! Super fun! How’s the food? Let me tell you this: The Breakfast Super Burrito is quite literally the biggest breakfast burrito I've ever seen! Now, I don’t know if it’s always like this, but wow! The flavor was fantastic and was made even better by the fresh salsa, sour cream, and guac. The side of tortilla chips was excellent as well; super light, super crunchy, fresh and tasty.
