It's like the restaurant is afraid to add any spice or it came out of a package. The fried rice tastes like white rice that has just been colored yellow. "We order from Brown Sugar about once a month, and usually have no complaints. Their food is better than almost any other Asian food in the west side suburbs! As usual, the Mango Bubble Tea was delicious, as were the Siam Rolls ! I'm unsure whether they were just really busy tonight or what, but the food wasnt as good as we've previously experienced. The Orange Chicken had many overdone pieces which resembled stringy, tough jerky as well as several clumps of fried breading without any chicken at all. The Basil Fried Rice was also overdone, with crunchy, charred pieces of rice which was also dry. As I said before, we order from here often, and usually the same food, so I'm guessing it was an off night (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), but my family was definitely disappointed."

Meat dishes were predominantly loaded with vegetables. Broccoli was not steamed properly. It was tough and leathery. I have had much better tasting versions of all these dishes at much cheaper restaurants. People must be feeling that they need to submit favorable reviews because they paid so much more for the food.
