"I had a great meal sitting down at Monk's Westheimer and Monk's Pearland, so it was a disappointment to order from the closer Monk's Heights and get identically named dishes that had completely different recipes. Chicken Tikka Masala was watery and mild, and didn't have the bell peppers or thickness or savory level of spice that the Pearland version had. Spicy Masala Noodle - Regular was alright, but was a smaller portion and not as addictive as what I got from Westheimer. I wouldnt get it again. Gully was spicy fried chicken nuggets. B+, never had it before, probably won't order again. Monk's Special Momo we got the tandoor chicken version. The outside was pleasantly spiced and the meat to wrapping ratio was much higher than other cuisine's dumplings. But I think I would rather just get tikka. The Plain Naan was fine, and unexceptional other than being an unusually good value at $2 for something larger than my head. I will give credit for all the chicken being relatively moist, which is a huge problem for Indian takeout. And the rice was good. I'll order from Westheimer next time. "

"This review is for takeout; I have yet to have enough time in my schedule to sit inside the space, which does look fun and inviting. I love their concept and the few times I've taken out here, I've never been disappointed. The flavors of all the dishes are very nice, focusing mostly on the Indian items. Samosas are a little smaller than you'd typically find elsewhere but have a nice phyllo crunch when fresh. The veggie samosas are a bit more tart than typical Indian dishes in America. The sauces are all great; I love tamarind always, and the sauce that comes with the Korma Deviled Eggs, which I loved more than I thought I would, looked like it would be spicy but it had a very mild and nice flavor. If you get the deviled eggs with shrimp, be aware they're crunchy-fried nicely but the shrimp still have the shell and legs on, to add some crunch to your culinary adventure. The Veggie Curry Flight and Protein Curry Flight are both lovely! Though this time it seemed the Dal Tarka (which I was looking forward to) was subbed for Butter Paneer. Paneer was delicious, but we already had Saag Paneer included in the flight. Hopefully it's back as advertised for next time, which there definitely will be, since there are plenty of other items on their menu which I'm looking forward to trying. "

Unfortunately, the food I received for delivery was quite different from what I remembered. First, the portions were extremely small, especially given the price. Paying $22 for a small container of butter chicken, one would expect a reasonable portion of rice, but instead, the rice container was half the size of the already small curry container. Moreover, the food was quite bland. I hope it was just an off day because this used to be one of my favorites in Houston. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding orders from here; you might have a better experience dining in person. "

Portion of plantain is almost non-existent, two tablespoons tops.. steak skewers are like one skewers broken into three pieces, very stingy portions on meat. Curry was extremely salty. "The food is always fantastic. However the dasher did not deliver the pizza I ordered. He said I needed to call the restaurant because they didn't give it to him. I called Ruggles Black and they said he definitely left with the pizza. They refunded me for the missing pizza but I had to place a second order with fees and tip to get what I ordered. Thankfully, Ruggles Black offered to provide me with two pizzas in addition to refunding the first one to offset the delivery fees.
