"I have visited this restaurant in person many times and have thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was excited to try it via DoorDash. Unfortunately, the food I received for delivery was quite different from what I remembered. First, the portions were extremely small, especially given the price. Paying $22 for a small container of butter chicken, one would expect a reasonable portion of rice, but instead, the rice container was half the size of the already small curry container. Moreover, the food was quite bland. I hope it was just an off day because this used to be one of my favorites in Houston. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding orders from here; you might have a better experience dining in person. "

"This review is for takeout; I have yet to have enough time in my schedule to sit inside the space, which does look fun and inviting. I love their concept and the few times I've taken out here, I've never been disappointed. The flavors of all the dishes are very nice, focusing mostly on the Indian items. Samosas are a little smaller than you'd typically find elsewhere but have a nice phyllo crunch when fresh. The veggie samosas are a bit more tart than typical Indian dishes in America. The sauces are all great; I love tamarind always, and the sauce that comes with the Korma Deviled Eggs, which I loved more than I thought I would, looked like it would be spicy but it had a very mild and nice flavor. If you get the deviled eggs with shrimp, be aware they're crunchy-fried nicely but the shrimp still have the shell and legs on, to add some crunch to your culinary adventure. The Veggie Curry Flight and Protein Curry Flight are both lovely! Though this time it seemed the Dal Tarka (which I was looking forward to) was subbed for Butter Paneer. Paneer was delicious, but we already had Saag Paneer included in the flight. Hopefully it's back as advertised for next time, which there definitely will be, since there are plenty of other items on their menu which I'm looking forward to trying. "

"This was my first time trying Chang Yai. I placed an order via Door Dash. The prices seemed very high for this part of town. Prices at some of the high-end Thai restaurants in Houston are about the same price or $1-$2 cheaper. They had 30% off during happy hour, so I tried it today.
I ordered the Hawaii curry at spice level 1. It had a decent amount of heat and it was just right for me, but too spicy for my mom. The rice portion was really small. Usually the little take out boxes are packed to the max, but this box had room for a lot more rice. I had to reheat my rice from the freezer to finish the curry. The curry had a lot of chicken, pineapple and huge chunks of tomato. The flavor was interesting and I ended up really enjoying it. I would order this again.
The tom kha was really tasty. It had more lime flavor than most of the tom kha's I have had, but I did enjoy it very much. I ordered spice level 1, but would order a 2 next time. Overall, it was a good experience."

"This place is super mid. The overall flavor profile for the food is nonexistent. The pad see ew had not chinese broccoli, no sauce, little egg and they cut up the noodles. WHY? what did those noodles do to you? The tofu had no flavor, and the veg was overcooked. The R3. Jalapeno Fried Rice had a decent amount of heat, but that was all that it had going for it. Not a lot of flavor or veg or really anything other than rice, which there was a lot of. The pad prig khing actually did have some flavor, but it was not really what i was expecting. Typically E6. Pad-Prik- King is a dry curry sauteed with green beans and a protein. This version was super wet, which was weird and they used a mix of veg with a focus on snow peas which was also weird. Also, if you are vegetarian be careful since we did find meat bits mixed in the sauce. Lastly the D6. Sweet Rice with Mango (Season) was a miss. The rice was undercooked, the mango was unripe but the sauce was ok. Overall, i would say that the only saving grace for this place is that the prices are a little better than others in the area, but you get what you pay for."
