"I had genuinely high expectations for Thali of India, especially after seeing it featured on TikTok. Unfortunately, those expectations were completely obliterated. I’ve had Indian food at restaurants throughout New York and in several other states, so I’m familiar with what these dishes can and should bring to the table. This meal didn’t come close.
The wait alone was over an hour, and after waiting that long, I expected the food to at least make the delay worthwhile. It absolutely did not.
I ordered the Chicken Pakora, Garlic Naan, Makhani, rice, and fries, and there really wasn’t a single part of the order that redeemed the experience. Chicken pakora should have a well-seasoned coating, a satisfying exterior texture, and juicy chicken underneath. Garlic naan should be tender, blistered, aromatic, and actually taste strongly of garlic and butter. Makhani should have richness and body with that balance of tomato, butter, cream, spice, acidity, and slow-developed flavor that makes the sauce worth dragging naan through. Even something as simple as rice should complement the meal rather than just exist beside it.
As an entire meal, this just lacked the depth, balance, texture, and execution I expect from good Indian food. Nothing made me want another bite, much less another order.
What makes the experience more disappointing is that social media created the impression that this would be one of those places worth going out of your way to try. For me, it was the exact opposite. Over an hour of waiting for a meal that failed across the board.
I’ve eaten far better Indian food across NY and outside the state. Unfortunately, based on this order, I cannot recommend Thali of India and would not order this meal again."

"I got the Tandoori Smoked Salmon Grill. It came with grilled vegetables, a lemon wedge, and mint chutney. I also got a huge complimentary plate of rice with it, which was unexpected but very nice of them!! The food came hot and was prepared well. The fish was a bit overcooked, but was still very tasty. The vegetables tasted so good. Service was nice. Overall good takeout!"
