"they've REALLY upped their already good game since we ordered from them last year! amazing, flavorful, and very, very friendly"
"Dahi Puri came with the dahi filled in puris. This made them soggy and a mush by the time it was delivered. I would suggest the restaurant send dahi in a separate container/packet.
Mixed Veg Tikka Masala was extremely bland. Don't think they even added salt to it. I had to add some salt and chili powder, heat it up again and then eat it."

"I recently tried the Ghee Karam Idly at Vintage Kitchen, and it was a delightful experience. The idlis were soft, fluffy, and served piping hot, generously drizzled with aromatic ghee that elevated the flavor. The karam (spicy podi) had just the right amount of heat — not overpowering, but enough to wake up your taste buds.
What impressed me most was the balance between spice and richness, making each bite feel indulgent yet comforting. The accompanying chutneys were fresh and paired well with the dish. Service was prompt and polite, and the packaging (for takeaway) kept the idly intact and warm.
Definitely a must-try if you're craving a traditional South Indian breakfast with a bit of a spicy kick."
"As a Karachi girl, biryani is half my personality. I was craving it at 11 pm on a weekday. That too with an ice cold coke. I was completely stunned at how good it was. Warm and fresh and fragrant. the raita was spiced perfectly. It was exactly what I needed to end the night. And yes I would over it again and again. And this is enough for 3 people! So super affordable in that regard."

Will order from this place again! Priced nicely compared to other desi restaurants in the area. Order from them, you'll love the food!! "

"Weve been customers since Sitar opened .
They continue to please. Per our request they made our two dishes low sodium, plus they added peas to Rogan Josh and paneer and extra fresh ginger to Aloo Gobi. Always accommodating, always fresh, rarely average tasting."
"I probably order from Sitar once every 2 weeks or so. I have deviated before when they are closed and I'm always disappointed with the other choices. Sitar's food is excellent! They always get it prepared quickly and they also provide more food (rice, etc.) than any other place - enough that we have leftovers! They package it neatly too (the little things). I will aways be a fan. Best Indian food in New Haven!"

"This Lamb Saag has incredible flavor without being spicy. Great for the whole family, butif you want it hotter, ask for that. Im still nervous to eat the Apollo Fish because it came in bright red coating that looks like fire. The Chickpeas Salad was huge. I love it! No one else has that."
"Tandoori Shrimp comes with the Basmati rice. Both items are made fresh and the taste is great. overall I'll give it a chefs kiss. Garlic Naan couldn't ask for anything more. The bread is soft and you can taste the garlic, but its not an overpowering garlic taste, but a pleasant amount of garlic."

"Shrimp Moilee wasn't like the photo at all and had a weird after taste to it. The Butter Chicken sauce was good but what is up with the thin cuts of chicken??? Butter Chicken is usually made with tender cuts of chicken thighs. Chicken was just thin, dry and tasted like store brought cut-up chicken breast. "They know exactly what they're doing, the food is amazing. The Palak Malai Kofta was wonderful, a little nutty inside (texture wise), but very good. You only get 3 oblong koftas in it, so it's a lot of sauce and not very much food. The Tikka Masala was amazing, very tender and yummy. Drums of Heaven were also good, but quite, quite spicy! The Samosa was amazing, I should have had 2 orders. The Raita was very strange, watery and flavorless, not good or worth the money. Everything else was ridiculously incredible."

"I absolutely love the butter chicken just perfect I like that it's made true to tradition there is no mild option here just yummy and the garlic naan always perfect highly recommend this place over any other I've had them all I always go back here "
"The okra fries were crispy and with a savory masala flavor. The Punjabi Samosa were spicy and loaded with complex flavors. The pain Pani Puri were disappointing as only two out of four had chickpeas and only two single chickpeas in them. There was plenty of space for more and the potatoes inside were crumbled, plain, dry and cold! The other two puri had NO chickpeas at all! This dish is simple and could’ve perfect if done properly. The delivery person had difficulty finding my apt# because DoorDash or the restaurant gave her the incorrect #. "I tried The Chicken Tikka Masala for the first time ever! Was absolutely delicious! Lasted me 3 days. The Garlic Naan however was eaten immediately, it was so warm and soft. 10/10 would highly recommend and would eat again!"
"Ordered from here many times before however I dont think I will again. Haven't had a consistent experience with this restaurant but thought i'd give them another chance. The Chicken Tikka Masala portion only had 5 chunks of chicken and a ton of sauce. $21 for such a small portion is not ideal. The Lasuni Gobi Vegan portion is also much smaller than before. Although both were tasty, they're overpriced for the portion size. It was more of a lunch portion than a regular entree. The Vegetable Steam Momo portion was fair and delicious. The Chicken Seekh on the other hand was a bit dry. Not sure if they were made earlier and reheated but definitely not a favorite.
Unfortunately I wont return. Not for a long while at least."

"Decent but the Butter Chicken Over Rice chicken was way too dry. "
"Today, I was disappointed with my order. I ordered the Three-Piece Chicken Meal with one side and two rolls, but the chicken pieces were extremely small. The chicken also tasted as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. Additionally, I didn't receive any complimentary sauces with my Two-Piece Fish order.
I've usually had much better experiences here, which made today's order particularly disappointing. I hope this was simply an off day and not a reflection of the quality I can expect going forward."

"I usually don't leave reviews. But Koon Thai is so good that I had to. The absolutely best Thai in New Haven, inexplicably flavourful, and reasonable for the amount they give. Their Coconut Pudding is out of this world, as is their Duck Noodle Soup, among other items. Keep up the good work.😇"
"Amazing Every Time!
Koon Thai in New Haven, CT is one of my favorite places for Thai food! Their Beef Pad Thai is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. It is always freshly made to order, hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with delicious spices. The beef is incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients and take pride in every dish.
The quality and consistency keep me coming back everything time!!!"

"Food was great! I thought the B5. Mango Dhara was a little too sour though, like the mango was a little underripe, some more sugar would have balanced it out. Still a good drink though"

"The falafel plate was very plentiful. The taste of the falafel was mouth-watering. The chopped salad that came with the falafel had just the right amount of dressing. The fruit salad was very good. It was a treat for me to be able to enjoy mango and papaya."
"The citrus chicken soup although good flavor was $15.95 for a 12 possibly 16 oz chowder cup I would have expected a 32 ounce portion for that cost. The grilled chicken is tasty but dry and this plate with lentils was $26.00 wow ....."

"The Reina Pepiada is amazing, I wanted to try something new so randomly pick this place (partly based on photos , I need to know what I should be expecting) it was a little greasy, but hey, it's fried, so im okay with that. It is FLAVOR TOWN. They are large so 1 is more than enough, although I orders 2 different ones for each of us. I don't normally leave reviews but this was certainly worth posting. The meat was soaked in flavor, the outside was perfectly toasted. I will probably tackle the next one form and knife. Happy customer."
