The extra protein was abundant which was nice but it was generally flavorless and textureless, except the sauce was overly glopped on top so it was overpowering. And if they had a few booths and a jukebox, but kept it alcohol-free, this would be the perfect place. I also think they would benefit heavily from utilizing a space out front for a table or two outside if at any way possible; I know the location makes it tough but it's definitely been done up and down the street in different spots. Ever since Gaylord's closed there's a gap that needs filled for a place to study and have breakfast late that isn't Denny's. Anyway, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but just some ideas for them to consider, to keep them thriving so they stay viable and with us forever! "

"I often door dash from this place. The Lois Famous Pineapple Ice Tea. Is probably the best thing I have ever had. I order it every time. The food is always hot and the hashbrows have such a good flavor and are never soggy. The food is not greasey but I think they use butter to cook with. I would skip the toast get english muffin no butter/ butter on side that way you can toast at work or home. If you order the pancakes don't forget to ask for butter on the side. Not sure how this would look if we had ordered in, but this take-out dish was massive!

So excuses of delivery delays of me not eating it right away do not factor into this. My turkey pesto sandwich was so soggy, it was like a sponge. One side was also very burnt, but the sogginess made scraping the burnt section off easier, so there's that. It was also room temperature cold - and since they grill it like a panini, my guess is that they made it very early, then left it to sit and the condensation made it soggy. (The inside of the container was full of water droplets.) The amount of turkey was also very light - the sandwich was practically flat. The chai tea was good (very spicy), the pesto flavoring on the sandwich was good, and the side salad was good. But for over $20 total for a turkey sandwich and the tiniest chai tea I've ever seen, I expected much more than spongy, burnt and cold bread."

"This really hit the spot today. Everything was warm, well seasoned, even the calamari was still crispy and warm. Moist Bourbon Glazed King Salmon, and sweet White Chocolate Bread Pudding still warm with all the fixings. So glad I treated myself tonight!"
"1) Kids Fish and Chips - inedible. Arrived literally swimming in a pool of grease. French fries were limp, pale and extremely undercooked. Did not receive any sides, as described. Did not receive brownie. Would have received better fruit from a Motel 6 continenti breakfast.
2) Braised Short Ribs - meat was confusingly dry throughout, with what appeared to be a turkey gravy - definitely not the promised red wine sauce and definitely not an appropriate amount. Meat was flavorless, although the (wrong) sauce was tasty. Carrots had a nice bite, but once again: zero seasoning. Everything lacked the juicy depth of flavor normally associated with this dish. I'm going to pick out the choice bites and turn the rest into a soup. Mashed potato side was delicious and extremely generous portion - far more potatoes than meat in this dish.
3) Garlic Mashed Potatoes - I'm saving these for later, but for $9, you're getting a scoop that looks to be about 6-8 oz. Tasty, but that's very expensive!
I spent almost a day's wages treating myself and got slightly more than 1 meal's worth of mediocre food... I would consider Lake Chalet to be a huge waste of money. Maybe the charm lies in eating at the actual restaurant...?"
