"Where's the Lettuce?
When I opened the Chicken Shawarma Salad it looked really full of fresh lettuce, veggies and chicken. The chicken was very flavorful and tender and moist. There was a good amount on the salad. There was a nice amount of olives, tomatoes and sliced onion.
But after a few bites of trying to eat the romaine lettuce I quit. This picture is of all the white "spine" in the container lid. The lettuce (if any) attached was too small to separate. Sorry- no picture of the very small amount of the green parts. They would have covered maybe a fourth of the container lid. Granted, this part of romaine is full of water and fiber but it has no flavor. All of the nutrients are in the dark green leafs. Good lettuce is not hard or expensive to provide in a salad.
The Baba Ghannoug was very good-creamy with the right amount of tang and spice. Would have been nice to have 2 servings of pita bread; one was not enough for sharing with my friend.
Better quality lettuce and one more piece of bread would bring this review up to 5 stars.
I would like to try other menu selections without lettuce. Based on the chicken and Baba Ghannoug they could be 4-5 stars.
