"Absolutely delicious! We like other Peter Chang-owned restaurants and this one is great, too! The Homestyle Stir-Fried Pork Belly was amazing - tender, beautifully spiced and a generous portion. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp were addictive - well seasoned (but not spicy at all) and cooked perfectly. They'd make a great appetizer shared among several people. They were so delicious that my 11 year old stole some even though she's usually quite picky. She also really enjoyed her Combo Lo Mein. The Sweet and Sour Chicken Slices were also great. Very flavorful with a perfect balance of sweetness. The Dry-Fried Eggplant was very tasty - crispy even though it had to travel here from the restaurant and well seasoned. The shredded beef with peppers had far more peppers than beef, which threw off the balance of the dish. Overall, both dishes lacked flavor. The Chicken Wonton Soup has four dumplings that are pretty large and a bunch of broth. I was a little sick so made me feel better. I didnt like the fritters that go with it though they were kinda stale but I also ordered pretty late. The Ma Po's Bean Curd was so good. I usually crave ma po tofu but wanted something less heavy and this was that it had so many veggies and the tofu was soft and the bean curd sauce was really nice actually spicy. Overall I was really happy with it. Will definitely get the tofu again. "

"The original Bar Chinois in DC is my favorite takeout in DC. I didn't even know they added a new VA location until I saw where my order was being picked up from. I was excited to see they'd expandedbecaise sometimes during peak hours they don't accept delivery orders. Well, unfortunately the food I got tonight wasn't nearly as good. I got my usual Garlic Chives Gao and 1970's Garlic Noodles. The Gao are weirdly textured on the outside and gluey on the inside. Not the incredibly textured cubes from the OG. The noodles were more normal, but again don't have that sandy/cheesy texture I have grown to love. I will not order from this location again. Real bummer."
