"I might be too picky but the shakes were very thick. The guanabana flavor was good though.
Rice was kind if mushy. It was edible.
Patacones were too thick and it felt like they were old. I think they would benefit from making these thinner. Adding salt would be a plus.
The maduros were alright as well.
The chicharrones I would have expected to be cooked more on the fat side.
Overall the meal was disappointing and I wouldn't eat here again. Specially since the price is higher than other options that are just as disappointing.
The pork in the red beans needs to be cooked more. I got some chewy bits of fat. "

"See, THIS is a fantastic example of restaurants that get swept under the rug by bigger chains. I order fast food and other junk all the time (we all have our vices, eh?), but today, I was feeling pretty sick. And while there's nothing wrong with ordering familiar food, I thought, "hey, let's try something a little better for me, for once." Well worth branching out.
It arrived promptly, and every part of it was better than the last. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the peppers and onions paired so well. I dunno what the spice palate was for this, but it WORKED.
I also highly suggest ordering the yellow rice over the white every time. It was tender, it was easy on a sore throat, and I feel SO much better following it.
The flan wasn't bad, either! I'm not usually a big fan because it usually comes to me grainy and slightly overcooked, and it was a bit too grainy for me this time, too, but prepared very nicely.

I have a tomato allergy but was prepared to take the hit with my benadryl because I had to try it lol. It was very oily and sorry to say and I actually can't believe I'm saying this there was too much meat? or the ratio was wayyy off I was expecting plantain in every bite with even amounts of cheese and meat. Not LASAGNA like at all. Pastelon is better than this no nostalgia. Half my plate was meat and bland. I was expecting layers but it literally was just one layer of each. The meat needed more seasoning. There should've been at least 2 layers. Not enough of each ingredient. Not worth 20$ I will make this at home for Thanksgiving. For my first time the lack of flexibility with the menu would not make me want to return. So I took off a star but as a plantain lover I couldn't drop it lower than 4.
