"My boyfriend is working out of town & LOVES Indian food, so based on the high reviews I decided to Door Dash him some lunch. He loves vegetables, so I chose the Biryani w/mixed vegetables & ADDED lamb (rather than just lamb biryani), hoping to get the best of both worlds. I also ordered it "medium" spice level because sometimes the spice at these places is too much & I figured better safe than sorry. Well, the dish was overall a big disappointment in that there were literally TWO small pieces of lamb (that I paid EXTRA for!!), and there was no spice level (heat) AT ALL!! He said the food was delicious, but a huge disappointment because there was no heat & I paid extra for almost nothing!! He wanted to try again, but to ask a couple questions first. I called today & the man that answered the phone said "uh huh" when I asked a question about the lamb, then hung up on me!! So we're going to take a chance & order something different today ("hot" spice level) & see what happens, lol!!"

"I recently ordered from Alif, especially on Eid day, as I was expecting a good biryani experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing. I ordered beef tehari (beef biryani) along with rice pudding. The rice pudding seemed old and spoiled—the rice was already breaking down and melting, which made it unpleasant to eat.
As for the beef biryani, it was supposed to contain a decent amount of beef, but I only found 3–4 very small pieces of meat. Even worse, the biryani was completely tasteless. There was no aroma or flavor at all—just plain rice with almost no seasoning.What they show on the online menu and what I actually received were completely different. The presentation and portion did not match at all.Overall, this was one of the worst biryanis I’ve ever had. It felt like a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone who truly loves biryani."

"Really disappointed with this Beef Biryani. It was honestly the worst I’ve ever ordered. There was barely any meat — mostly just bones — and it felt like a complete waste of money. The taste was average, but the portion quality was unacceptable. I expected proper pieces of meat, not just bones. Won’t be ordering again. Packaging was verypoor as well."

"Everything I ordered was delicious, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The jajeek was so good it was full of cucumber and flavor. The Beef Tikka Wrap was very tasty and the beef was tender. They could use a bit more beef as it was full with a lot of lettuce but I would still order it again. Hummus here is tasty with the fresh pita they give you. My mom makes Curry Stew and this restaurant is the closest to her food that I have tried, and I have tried many. They have the stew flavor on point. I will definitely be ordering from here again and will share this place with friends and family to try out. They don't close until midnight every single day so this place is a gem!"

"This is the GEM of the tri-county Detroit area!!! If you've EVER been on the fence about Indian food- you must try this.And if you have EVER liked/loved authentic Indian cuisine- you MUST try this! It is quite honestly the BEST my husband and I have ever had, with all our travels combined!!Our toddler and two older children thoroughly finished their plates , and my oldest came back for more of my butter chicken(PHENOMENAL!!!) just so he could dip more of the naan into the sauce. The butter chicken is my personal favorite. The lamb is cooked to perfection, and I strongly recommend trying all the varieties of naan along with your meal. Desserts are perfectly portioned and the value is incredible. The staff is so kind and know how to expeditiously prep your order.
We will be keeping this spot on heavy rotation as they offer quite the value, excellent service, and an authentic flavor we've ever had.

The Mozzarella Sticks, Onion Rings, and Seasoned Fries were all really good - but the PACKAGING was bad.
