"So, I had a craving for jollof rice so I bought the Jollof Rice + Chicken. It was delicious and fairly priced. When ordering, I figured I would get the Goat Meat Pepper Soup as well to try it out. I was skeptical about the price and for good reason. It was a very small portion considering the cost. It was also quite salty for my taste. Overall, it tasted good, but unless there's a bunch a saffron in the dish, I'm unsure how one could justify the price tag. Maybe that was all that remained in the pot? Again, the Jollof Rice + Chicken. was fantastic and I would recommend it."

"Delicious meal, my go to spot for real kitchen originally Nigerian meals"
"I got the catfish barbecue and I had the option to pick a side so I got fries, it tasted really good just like the roadside barbecue in Nigeria. It's the closest thing to home for those of us that miss the streets of Lagos. It was dry on the outside and tender on the inside, it was also very fresh and warm, packaged in a foil and news paper (reminds me of home) and there was an extra peppered sauce and veggies for garnish. I had a full table when I unwrapped it.
For 30$? This is beyond worth it!!!
I would be ordering again."

"This was my first experience with Nigerian food. I got the Nigerian Jollof Rice + Chicken (Combo) and it was delicious! So flavourful with the perfect level of spice, and such a generous portion that the leftovers are enough for another meal. I picked up my order and the service was excellent and the staff very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be ordering from Tatashi again."

Shalom Ethiopian Restaurant

"Keeping in mind that we must judge food that was rolled over by an undetermined person in an undetermined vehicle, as opposed to food that came from a kitchen just a few metres away, Shalom is not the best Ethiopian food in this great city of ours. It IS, however, the best of (or at least among the best) Ethiopian food you can get delivered to your door downtown which will mostly resemble what the chef/cook and staff produced (that I've tried given my options in the downtown core). I had the meat combo and samosas (to add some deep fried action to the mix), and it ended up being a budget meal that lasted me for about three eating sessions. Just brilliant, but be warned that if you don't already like African or Indian or Latin American food then this is just going to make you angry. "
"Maybe it's just not my taste for this dish. It costs $17 for two shrivelled chicken legs and an egg with a small plate of sauce. The indescribable sour and spicy taste crushed my taste buds, and I wore a mask of pain while "enjoying" the whole dish. Trust me, if you can't handle that, the cheapest burger at McDonald's will be more filling than this dish."

"This is definitely the healthiest Ethiopian food I've had in Toronto. They use olive oil from Italy that they buy at Costco (yes, I researched this) which is a healthy oil as opposed to the canola oil or canola/"veg" oil that every other Ethiopian food restaurant uses in their food. Canola is also GMO and I don't want to support GMOs.
The food here also has markedly less oil, then a restaurant such as Rendevous where everything is slick with oil but delicious.
It's definitely the most expensive choice for a gluten-free veggie platter at $30 but this is why, and it's worth it."
"The Buticha is delicious. No salad though as pictured. Portions getting smaller. For $25, this is a small snack. "
