This beer is incredible drinkable at about 5% ABV, and we see ourselves enjoying it all summer long, or until it runs out. I spent some time selecting the German ingredients to make a proper pilsner. First, German pilsner malts create a light, dry malt backbone and a beautiful pale golden color. Then, German Magnum hops balance the malt character with a smooth and clean bitterness. Of course, the classic, noble avor of Saaz hops lends a lovely crispness that accentuates the clean, dry nish. We dry hopped the beer with about another pound per barrel of Saaz. 5.2% ABV.
A bright, clean, and cris kolsch-style ale, brewed at lager temperatures. Perfect for a beautiful Oakland afternoon. 4.5% ABV.
Belgian wheat beer with chamomile and lemongrass. Wheat beer with Belgian yeast and subtle spices. Soft and mellow VERY approachable. Fits classic wheat beer style but can also be a little more interesting than the run of the mill Belgian wheat beers. 5.5% ABV.
Half Moon Bay Brewery used a Peruvian herb called Cat's Claw, combined with honey, ginger, and hibiscus flowers, and a Belgian Saison yeast that adds a spicy kick to the finish. 5.5% ABV.
The 2016 Belgian Tramp Tripel was brewed as a collaboration brew between High Water Brewing and Bison Brewing Company and Uncommon Brewers. The beer was brewed using pilsner malts, Belgian yeast, fresh local sourced persimmons, and a blend of Orange Blossom and Spring Wildflower honey. 10.9% ABV.
A classic Belgian style Dubbel with notes of dried fruits and chocolate emanate from the glass. Pleasant flavors of plum, dates, and raisins hit the palate with an undertone of chocolate and bready notes. Lingering finish holds similar flavors to the palate, with a more accentuated bready note. 7.1% ABV.
A semi-sweet, fruit forward hard apple cider with a crispy dry finish. 5.5% ABV.
Bison's West Coast Ale is brewed with a blend of the season's best organic hops. Like California sunshine in a bottle, Hop Cuvee radiates a golden hue with brilliant clarity and bright effervescence. It's a crisp, citrusy, and tropical ale with a touch of pine-like bitterness and a clean, dry finish. Refreshing and sessionable, Hop Cuvee satisfies both hop lovers and craft beer newbies. 4.5% ABV.
A Fairfax favorite. This IPA is smooth with great floral notes, big and bold, yet smooth and mellow. 7% ABV.
The East Bay IPA is a West Coast style IPA that is all about big hop aroma and flavor. Two pounds of hops were used per barrel giving it an up front bitterness which helps balance the rich malt bill. Mosaic and Galaxy hops were added in the finish giving a wonderful tropical citrus nose. Ale Industries carbonates their beers with some 'English style' to bring out more of the flavor and aroma so it'll be a little less carbonated than you'd typically expect. 7% ABV.
It's exactly what it sounds like folks! A blend of 5 of Black Diamond's favorite hops throughout the brew. From the boil to dry-hop they threw in everything but the kitchen sink. Enjoy and beware, ha. 8% ABV.
This is a tradition English ESB and KEG! Super easy drinking, with a bit higher alcohol than their other bitters. It has a pleasant ester/caramel aroma, malty sweetness with a bitter backbone and easy finish. 5.6% ABV.
Milk stout with lactose and cold pressed coffee. Collaboration with San Leandro's own Zocalo Coffeehouse! Espresso, cocoa, smooth, and rich. 3.6% ABV.
Hermitage's Scotch Ale, also known as a Wee Heavy, pours out a reddish-brown color with amber highlights, and beige colored head. The aroma is malty, with toasted grain notes and a slightly nutty character. Maltopia's flavor is true to its name: malt forward, with a deep toasted flavor, slight caramel character, a hint of plum-like fruitness, and a hop bitterness enough for balance. Moderately full bodied with medium-high carbonation, Maltopia has a dry finish that makes it surprisingly easy drinking.
Le Petit Diablotin, “The Little Devil”, is an American sour ale. The beer was aged in wine barrels for 12 months with local sour cherry & pomegranate juice. This beer is a delicate and precious treat for those who enjoy the subtle nuances of things from the “wild side”. 6% ABV.
