"Rene's is a well known, long time establishment which is why I'm sad that I have to write this review. The 6" Hot sausage sandwich was not that great. It actually tasted like Kielbasa with a lot of garlic. It didn't have that fennel taste normally associated with hot sausage. I actually tossed the other half because I wasn't happy with the taste. Not to mention (look at the pic) the sandwich was more bun than anything. The Fried cheese was ok but didn't look anything like the menu pics(which looked fire!!) Tasted good but pretty average. Again, sad that I had to make this unsavory review but I expected more from such a well known staple. Sorry Rene's...you missed the mark on this one."

Steak hoagie was loaded with meat and at a very good price point for the amount you get. However, it arrived very soggy. My guess is because of the tomato's and canned mushrooms.
Aside from that, my only other complaint would be that the store did not offer a way to add or take away ingredients on the hoagie because I generally ask for no tomato's."

The chicken was very fresh and fried well but did not as much flavor as the fish. My husband had the Classic Breakfast with a Cornbread waffle and hot links. I didn't try anything besides his cb waffle and it was 🔥. He said his food was good as well. Portions were fairly decent except for the side order of bacon (just 2 strips). We both said we'd like to go eat in person especially since this was a door dash experience. Two of our boxes were smash in and a bit soggy but im sure its from transporting hot food. Overall two thumbs up and fair prices.
P.s.condiments were included in the bad w/o even requesting them. Butter, jelly, syrup, hot sauce, tartar, ketchup and eating utensils.-very much appreciated.

"This place is the best pizza ive had in PGH. Moved here from Seattle and tried a lot of places here. The sauce and cook of Parma is def the best. It is pricey, but not really more than other local stores. Staff is always super friendly, quick deliveries, and they often thank me for the tip. Just got a Hawaiian Pizza last night for the first time and it was the best ive had anywhere. "I saw this restaurant and I was intrigued by some of the options, but I checked out their Instagram and immediately I was like.... I need to try this.
The portion size is great and the ingredients seem freshly put together. The taste is something pulled straight from somebody's Nonna cooking in the kitchen and I really enjoyed it!
The one downside was that the pasta itself was quite overcooked, far past al-dente and borderline mush at parts. I figure it must've just been a mistake during the cook, but it's a small chef-run restaurant and with how fabulous everything else is, I can't really complain much.
I'm definitely ordering from this place again, but I think I'll opt for something other than the penne. Maybe the rigatoni might cook a bit better or maybe I could try that ravioli.
Who knows. Either way, I'm ordering from here and probably making a quick trip to dine in because from what I've seen from their socials, it's literally the cutest little place in the city.
