"This was my first time ordering from here and I truly regret it lol. I got Birria and it was not great at all. The flavor was very light and the meat was almost nonexistent and the meat i did get was mostly fat which is disgusting. I don't know why I chose to switch it up today. If you want Birria get it from colimas at least there's comes with beans and rice "

"The Quesabirra tacos are the BEST!! So delicious and the sauce is screaming!!! This is seriously the best new taco shop in La Mesa. I love their rolled tacos as well. One of these days I will try the burgers because those look amazing too!! I just can't stop DoorDashing these tacos!! YUMMM!!!!"
"Lots and lots of chips! This is my first order from this store using Door Dash. I enjoy the Carne Asada chips. Very tasty . This order did Not have much guacamole and an Ok amount of sour cream, that affected overall taste. Had lots of meat. I Normally order in person and propotion of toppings are better.

"Had the Hash brown Break burrito, was a buy one get one offer that I just couldn't pass up in price. Plus the Wife wanted a breakfast burrito. Honestly, one of the better breakfast burritos I've had in my 37 years of living in San Diego. Solid amount of bacon. Like seriously a respectable amount of bacon. If you don't like bacon, then don't get this ridiculously bacon'ed and cheese'd burrito of happiness. The fact that we ordered two burritos for $18 ($25 after DoorDash driver tip and stuff) brings me back to a time in San Diego where the working man can afford burritos regularly. Once again I repeat, the price is only due to a buy one get one free deal. I can't wait to try all the other foods at this place."

"Yea ima just say it they got the best California Burrito in all of California. I cannot think of anything they could improve it's just a perfect burrito. It is a few dollars more than other taco joints but you get your moneys worth it is a large burrito. Tortilla is fresh and toasted to perfection, they use actual diced potatoes that melt in your mouth with so much flavor and without being greasy at all, the steak is seasoned well and has a nice sear to it, they use high quality Mexican cheese that stays melted 30 minutes after it leaves the restaurant, they also use real Mexican sour cream with the perfect amount. To top it all off all 3 of there hot sauces are perfect and the best ive had. You are missing out big time if you havent tried this place "
"Tortilla Soup is the best I've ever had. it's full of fresh veggies and is a good amount for the happy hour price. Chicken Taco (One Piece) did not come with the rice and beans and drink that it said it would. Taco was good, but needs to be priced different for one taco. "I got my * California Burro and not only was it cold and the cheese wasnt melted but here was essentially no fries and meat and was basically just tortilla and sour cream and guacamole. "I got the quesotaco with steak, and while the grilled cheese looked a little overdone, it had a nice crisp without tasting burnt. "Shredded Beef Burrito is good bang for the buck. packed with beef, & a light spattering of bell peppers & onions...+ a lot of shredded cheese. No unnecessary filler. The Rolled Taquitos (4) are fire! Very filling & tons of cheese & guac. I tried the chicken ones. yummy..."

"I got the MONSTER version of the FLAMING HOT BURRO and it really was BIG! Biggest burrito I've yet had in San Diego. Worth the extra $5 to me. The jalapeno queso was really good, I just wish it was spread out through the entire burrito, rather than only approx. 1/2s of it. Never had a HORCHATA SHAKE before, and it was pretty tasty. Gonna try their Reeses shake next time."
"A bit overpriced, but the portion sizes are decent. Depending on what you get, you might get a lot of filler ingredients, and the flavor balance might be off. More veggies would be nice. Their salsas lack depth; the red one especially is just spicy and little else. Customer service is mediocre, but the vibes (music & decor) in the small dining area were pretty good. Obviously not authentic Mexican, but at least it's conveniently on campus."

"this is the second time ordering from this place and the flavor is yummy! from the Carne Asada Taco to the 1/2 Pint Rice which was perfectly seasoned. be warned.... their tacos are humongous @ about 5.75 a pop. But it's worth it! it's filled with so much meat and toppings. honestly though just the one taco and rice would have been good for me. I also love how late they are open. it works out for people like me who work late as well. this is my new mexican food spot!"
"The California burrito was super good! The guacamole and carne asada was really good. The carne asada was a little bit salty but it had a great flavor. "Honestly the most bomb carne asada fries I've ever had! Portions are perfect & it works with beans & jalapeños with nacho cheese on the side. Carne is well seasoned & tender. Guac is fresh & chunky. Not too much sour cream to drown out the taste. Their red & green salsas are good too! What a surprise! I'm picky about carne asada fries, I don't order them often. There's always one thing that's off. These are a perfect combo. SO GOOD!!! Also tried the BRC burrito which was also good. Fresh tortilla, not so huge that it's gross, good quality cheese, rice is seasoned well & beans taste great. Found my new taco shop!!! (At least for those items)."

"The good: The Torta Gallegos was absolutely delicious, great combination of flavors and textures, with a nice spicy pickled carrot salad as a side. The 5 Mini Tacos de Asada (you can choose all 5 taco meats individually) were true to what I have eaten in various locations both here in San Diego and in my youth in Mexico, and they were a good value based on food to cost ratio. The Rice and Beans were a great combination with each other, the Beans were seasoned well.
The bad: The "Extras" Chips that I got were described as having cheese and Guacamole with them, however I received no cheese or Guacamole.
Overall, I would ABSOLUTELY order from here again, I got a great amount of food for cost, and it was all delicious."
"This food was overall really delicious!! The birria tacos were some of the best I've ever had. The consume was delicious and very flavorful. The burrito was pretty good as well wish there was salsa inside. They also included salsa and both were delicious. However the rice was below average. There was only a small portion of rice for almost $2, if I knew they were that small I wouldn't have ordered however it was not in the description. There was not much flavor unfortunately. Overall it was pretty good and would order eveythung but the rice again!!"

"Ive tried ordering taco shop from many people through doordash taking my chances and none have delivered like this shop! Portions are GREAT and will get you full. I would've given 4 stars only cause the Fish Taco don't come with any condiments like sour cream or a chipotle sauce but everything else was perfect. I love that they give you the option for extra 4 Green Salsas (Extra) for 1$, and the Large Horchata was perfect."
"This is the third time I've ordered the fish taco combination plate and, as always, it did not disappoint. Large pieces of fish, light breading that is never overcooked. Plenty of rice and beans with it, so much that I have to save it for the next day."

"They followed instructions. The fries were crispy and put the sour cream was on the side. The burrito is hugeee and is shareable. The Creamy Orange salsa (XHOT) hot sauce was delicious!!"
"California and Carnitas burritos are HUGE, definitely worth the price. The (3) Mini Tacos (one meat only) and Plain Quesadilla didn't disappoint. Everything tasted great, horchata is perfectly sweet and not watered down. Sauces are very good too and add the perfect touch to each item! Although doordashed it was still pretty fresh and juicy."

"Best DD experience of my life! Huge portion, fresh and delicious AND they fulfilled my special request without issue. First timer and I've got a new favorite breakfast burrito! I don't know if they normally wrap the burritos in foil on top of the yellow paper but the burrito was in foil and was still warm when it arrived. No notes :)"

"The Carne Asada Burrito was A1. Nice big burrito, full of juice flavorful meat. The red sauce is spicy but super delicious. Highly recommended and see why!"
"I have been eating from Marlen's for a few years now because I work right up the street. I'm a big burrito person and Marlen's always gets it right. Their burritos are absolutely delicious and in an age where portions are getting smaller the more expensive they get, Marlen's burritos are still bigger than many others. Always worth the money."

"The Shrimp Ceviche is amazing! I've had it 3 time this week! The Grilled Shrimp Taco is yummy as well!"
"Neither of the fish tacos had any sauce on them and were as dry as they could possibly be. As was the carne asada taco. All tacos were about 70% cabbage, 20 % protein and 10% tomatoes. We did not get any of the salsa we ordered, did not get a serving of rice we ordered either. Will never get this place again considering how dry the tacos were and how little proteins there was. If you value the money you work for do not waste it on this place as they will not value you as a customer. Waste of money and time could not be more disappointed with this experience."

"Everything was delicious. This place is honestly a staple of San Diego in my opinion. The rolled tacos were so crispy and flavorful. The burritos were just as flavorful and packed with beans and cheese perfectly."

"This is my first time coming to Swami's and WOWWWW!!! The portion size is fantastic. You get more bang for your buck here. The food temperature was perfect! The Eggs Benedict were so creamy and tangy and my taste buds are just exploding from all the flavor right now. I also got the pastrami melt which I might have to save for later because it's so big. And although it's a side dish, the sweet potato fries were my favorite part. Whoever cooked this food, man.... I LOVE YOU."
"The Swamis Club was pretty big. Tasted pretty good. Fresh ingredients
The fries tho...Ehh
No seasoning and they taste sweet as if they fry a sweet or breakfast item in same oil
They do come free with the sub tho so I guess if you like the taste, just season at home
Overall 4/5
Would order again bc of sandwich size but I'd definitely get a different side like a salad"

"Most flavorful and quality meets San Diego's hidden gems. Burritos are savory and carne asada is topnotch. The carne asada fries with guac is a true reflection of love and care of what they DO. Wish Mauricio will re-open in Kearny soon. We miss you!"
