"Iāve eaten here before, and unfortunately, this visit was just as disappointing. I ordered the Memphis ribs, and they were dry, overcooked, and completely lacking in flavor. They didnāt have the smoky, tender, fall-off-the-bone quality youād expect from good barbecue.
The mashed potatoes were awful. They were thick, hard, and full of potato skins, with an unpleasant texture that tasted like they had been sitting around for a while. The macaroni and cheese had almost no cheese flavor at allāit was bland and forgettable. To make matters worse, the gravy tasted like collard greens had been mixed into it. If thatās intentional, it should be listed on the menu because it completely ruined the mashed potatoes.
As someone who knows Southern cooking, this is nowhere close to authentic Southern food. It lacks the seasoning, soul, and flavor that Southern barbecue is known for. It honestly tastes like it was made by people who donāt understand what real Southern comfort food is supposed to be.
The biggest disappointment is the price. I spent nearly $100, and the quality wasnāt even close to matching what they charge. The food was overpriced, bland, and simply not worth the money.
I wonāt be going back, and I definitely wouldnāt recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Southern barbecue."
