The cheese on the taquitos is just thrown on every single time, and doesn't even melt on the taquitos evenly whatsoever. It's actually comical sometimes how messily it's thrown together. Also, even when they remember to include my rice and beans, it's thrown on top of everything, super messy. Just like the cheese. And all the missing items. The attention to detail is just not there. I used to be a fan but I probably will not be ordering here again. And the taquitos are the only affordable item on the menu. The rest is horribly overpriced. A side of plain tortilla chips is $5? "Avilas Lake Forest food has been stellar since they tented for termites and had drain pipes worked on.
I waited a few months until they were done. Now the food is seriously better than it has ever been. I'm a longtime Newport and Costa Mesa Avilas fan and right now Avilas Lake Forest is #1! The chips are consistently fresh and fried perfectly. Salsas are fresh! My Fresco Burrito the last 3 weeks is perfection and tried my kids Quesadilla Avila and the cheese is best in the world! The chicken in the quesadillas is fantastic. I ordered delivery but the staff member at this restaurant are really good people who work hard! Thank you !"
"The Mama's Avila Soup was absolutely disgusting. It was soggy, salty rice in oily chicken broth with some dry chicken breast. It was literally worse than the food I cook for my dog. The Guacamole was $6.50 for 3oz and came with LITERALLY 12 chips. I'm so offended I can't even be mad. EMBARRASSING."
