The macaroni and cheese had almost no cheese flavor at all—it was bland and forgettable. To make matters worse, the gravy tasted like collard greens had been mixed into it. If that’s intentional, it should be listed on the menu because it completely ruined the mashed potatoes.
As someone who knows Southern cooking, this is nowhere close to authentic Southern food. It lacks the seasoning, soul, and flavor that Southern barbecue is known for. It honestly tastes like it was made by people who don’t understand what real Southern comfort food is supposed to be.
The biggest disappointment is the price. I spent nearly $100, and the quality wasn’t even close to matching what they charge. The food was overpriced, bland, and simply not worth the money.
I won’t be going back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Southern barbecue."
