The bed of rice was perfectly cooked, with a buttery hint for flavour. There were very generous portions of lamb and chicken, seasoned generously and incredibly succulent.
I topped mine off with the white sauce and the hot sauce, which perfectly complemented the meats. The depth of smoky flavour and the bold kick in the hot sauce make it clear that this is not your run-of-the-mill bottled premade sauce. I very genuinely believe this is a house-made sauce, and the quality shines through.
Overall, for the portion sizes and flavour that you get, this price point is a steal.

"Tried this place out after my usual halal place suffered a deterioration in quality. Shah's is a top-tier restaurant not only by halal standards but for cuisine in general. Portions are great, meat is delicious (the chicken moreso, but the lamb is still tasty), they give a generous amount of hummus/chick peas/beans, and they even give you a nice surprise treat to top it all off. the jerk chicken is tender but it is SPICY, not in a bad way but it dies quickly.
the ribs are smokey with a nice amount of heat and they are FALL OFF THE BONE tender.
the wings are great, not overcooked OR oversauced so I don't look like a toddler after eating them.
the Mac and cheese is creamy and garlicky but not to the point where it's overpowering, it compliments the spices in the meat well.

The two servings of Kapai were extremely dry and flavourless because there was barely any sauce. Two boxes of chicken that tasted like plain fried chicken , not at all like Korean fried chicken.
The staff do not put in the same amount of effort for takeout orders as they do for in-store orders. This was the first bad experience I had with Sarang. I reccommend eating the food in-person. "

"I've ordered from here so many times over the last 3 or 4 years, from different locations, and literally almost every time they don't put the pomegranate molasses sauce (the thing that makes it different from similar restaurants) on the wrap. I always order it on the side because of this, and sometimes they forget that too, even with me adding an order note asking them to please not forget it in the wrap, or on the side. Tonight's Shawarma Mix wraps didn't have the pomegranate sauce OR the garlic sauce (which they've forgotten once before). Those are listed ingredients, not extras. The meat was dry and chewy tonight, and the moisture in the wrap came from watery lettuce and tomatoes...some water dripped out of the wrap when I first picked it up. You can see in the photo that there's no sauce, a few limp wisps of lettuce, and about two pieces each of turnip and tomato. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I've finally had enough. How is it so difficult to put the same 5 ingredients in a wrap? I understand a place having an off night, but almost every single time?? I'm sadly not surprised their rating isn't very good because I'm sure I'm not the only one having this experience."
