Well fellow Porteaters, I'm afraid this one was a bust.. The Spin and Cheese Ravioli was mediocre at best and the Spaghetti Bolognese literally tasted of stroganoff Hamburger Helper.. It also didn't help that both looked and were gummy in texture as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour:( The garlic bread tasted of garlic, but was a soft, grocery French loaf with melted garlic butter spread across the top. No toasting, no parsley flakes, just bread & butter.
I am happy to say that they were kind enough to include extra Parmesan sides and that the portions are rather large and generous!
In all, everyone has different tastes when it comes to Italian. This one just wasn't for us.. Sorry guys!"

Tiramisu is very light and uplifting, just as the name suggests it should be. There is a dusting of mild shaved chocolate on top. Ladyfingers are fresh and not sodden. I prefer no chocolate with my tiramisu, but this is still a very lovely dessert, and, I think, among the better tiramisus to be found in the Portland area.
Prugne giulebbate is really excellent, and a rare find! What a delightfully simple and yet satisfying dessert. Quite sweet, though balanced out by the fresh mascarpone. A perfect consistency, not overwhelmingly alcoholic, and as pleasing to my adult self as to the child self who would have drunk straight from a bottle of syrup, given the chance.

The CinnaStix were dry, deflated and clearly OLD with a hunk of fried out cinnamon sugar in a brick in the center of the dough. Icing was COMPLETELY liquid. The cheese sticks were old and burnt and I ordered a side of fries and got about 12 French fries that tasted re-fried in old oil in a container that clearly showed there was supposed to be more than arrived. Especially for the price. Wasted money wasted time for what seems like careless work. Never again."

That dish had several other good reviews so maybe I just expected too much when I ordered it but some of the pieces of chicken were rubbery and tough almost like they had been either microwaved or overcooked which kind of ruins the overall pasta dish but the pasta and sauce were pretty good. It is really hard to find a good chicken pasta dish that consistently gives you a high quality tender soft juicy chicken breast that isn't rubbery or overcooked so I guess I shouldn't be too hard on them about that. The House Caesar Salad was very good though and the dressing was more bland than I expected and wasn't as overly garlicky as other reviews had warned about. I would say that this House Caesar Salad is probably one of the best top 2 Caesar Salad options available on DoorDash in this area along with the other top option of the Caesar Salad at Apizza Scholls which is also very good but has an even more strong garlic dressing. The Loaf of Tuscan Bread (vg) was ok but kind of bland and it was bigger than I expected and doesn't come with any butter or olive oil and vinegar so plan ahead for that."

"The Haydn Steak Burger was fantastic: cooked exactly how I wanted, white cheddar with fresh vegetables, and the bun cooked prior, giving the inside a nice crisp.
The cakes were, of course, top tier. I personally got the Raspberry Gateau and Passion; I would have also received the marionberry cheesecake, but they were out of it.
I was originally scouting out if the cakes here were worth the price tag for a birthday, and I have to say: these cakes are worth a VERY special occasion. Yes, the pricetag fits the slice; presentation is half the point of a cake, and Hadyn definitely delivers. But it would be overpriced if the taste didn't match. On this point, I underestimated them: they taste BETTER than I thought they would. I don't care for overly sweet cakes with too much sugar, and these cakes are NOT; the ganache is especially complex, with tart raspberries to blend with the bitter dark chocolate of the cake, which is dense, but moist.

"That was so good! I was expecting typical chain-restaurant food: good but meh. The food has gotten really good in the decade since I last ate here.
The food was still hot when it arrived, and definitely fresh. The Pickle Chips 3pd were perfectly battered, crisp on the outside and warm on the inside. And that Rosette sauce - it's almost Bloomin' Onion Sauce but somehow better. I do wish I'd gotten just a little more. I'll have to check and see if additional sauces are an option when I place my next order!
Pepperoni on the BYO BYO Pizza 3pd, is just how I like it: smaller, thick, curls and crisps when cooked. Olives were fresh (not always the case I've found). I even think the pineapple is fresh, not canned. The crust is the thin, crispy kind that I prefer. They cooked it well. A little heavy on the cheese, but it's cheese so can I really complain? Even the bell peppers were red, my favorite. I went for the BBQ sauce base and was not disappointed.

"Salad had tiny amounts of every ingredient in it. Cobb salad had bacon that was all fat. Not a full egg or avocado, tiny amount of cheese. Super disappointing for a very expensive salad. All lettuce, wont order again"

I hate being catty but the Verdi Salad Large was only thing that got finished.
The Abituale had scant flecks of sausage, and was the most flavorful (but still got doused with red pepper). The Bolognese was... a little meatier but not by much, mostly a bland spaghetti block. Little to say about the Polenta Con Maiale, also bland but did have more meat but mostly a pile of disproportionate polenta to sauce and pork.
I feel bad leaving this review, but it was the most underwhelming meal I've eaten in Portland.
