Donut shops don't make cruellers anymore and they are my favorite, but POP Donuts makes a Buttermilk Cake donut with light glaze that tastes a lot like a crueller, so looks like I've found a new favorite. They also have smoothies, canned beverages, and coffee drinks. One smoothie - Pineapple Coconut - is one that I'm definitely going to have to try. If donuts aren't what you're craving, they have breakfast sandwiches. This little shop has some of everything and I will be back. I ordered the #1 Taco with Tender Belly bacon, scrambled eggs, and Monterey Jack cheese, along with the #4 Taco with chorizo, scrambled eggs, and Monterey Jack cheese. Unfortunately, the tacos themselves were disappointing.
I understand the concept of breakfast tacos and how the different ingredients are intended to work together to create a balanced flavor profile. In this case, however, the scrambled eggs, which made up most of the filling, had virtually no flavor. Even a small amount of salt or basic seasoning would have made a significant difference. It felt like the expectation was for the meat alone to flavor the entire taco.
The #1 taco contained only a single strip of bacon, while the #4 had a decent amount of chorizo. Even so, neither taco came together in a way that justified the price.
Overall, the value just wasn’t there. The ingredients may have been fresh, but the lack of seasoning and the portion of bacon left these tacos falling well short of expectations."
