"First time trying Sals, I like the NY theme and they get points for having Black and white cookies but for the price the pizza was not good enough even from a Southern California perspective ( not known for our pizza, good spots aren't that common). I'd give it a pass if it wasn't pushing the NY presentation but because it is I have to judge accordingly. My Dads side of the family is from Bronx/yonkers so I grew up visiting there and Jersey and also scouting out the good local places in SD and OC. The biggest issue was the crust, I ordered well done and got undercooked floppy pizza, crust didn't have much of a taste either. Wasn't much sauce on it so didn't really notice what it tasted like it was so subtle. Cheese was good quality though and tasty. "
