"My boyfriend is working out of town & LOVES Indian food, so based on the high reviews I decided to Door Dash him some lunch. He loves vegetables, so I chose the Biryani w/mixed vegetables & ADDED lamb (rather than just lamb biryani), hoping to get the best of both worlds. I also ordered it "medium" spice level because sometimes the spice at these places is too much & I figured better safe than sorry. Well, the dish was overall a big disappointment in that there were literally TWO small pieces of lamb (that I paid EXTRA for!!), and there was no spice level (heat) AT ALL!! He said the food was delicious, but a huge disappointment because there was no heat & I paid extra for almost nothing!! He wanted to try again, but to ask a couple questions first. I called today & the man that answered the phone said "uh huh" when I asked a question about the lamb, then hung up on me!! "Ordered here for the first time. I got the peppered steak for myself, and the $3 rice side. I will say the dish was very soupy (I expected actual peppered steak) but it was still amazing. I also ordered the drunken rice to share, and my husband wanted the pad Thai. I ordered them to all be mild spice levels and it had a little kick which we liked. The portions are HUGE, enough to last us at least 3 meals each.
The food was hot when I went to pick it up about 15mins after it was ready. The woman at the desk was kind & the food was ready less than 20mins after I ordered it. Definitely ordering here again!"
"Von Thai is a local gem with some truly delicious food. I loved the chicken tom yum soup—it was so flavorful, bursting with a perfect balance of citrus and spice. The chicken 'C4' keaw warn was also fantastic.
My only note for the kitchen staff:
Give the eggplant a little extra love. The thick slices in my dish have been a bit raw on the last two visits. If you're able to cook it a bit longer or slice it more thinly, I think it would bring out the sweetness and make the dish even better."
