Royal Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani Halal
Halal Chicken Biryani is the crowning jewel of South Asian cuisine—a majestic feast of ultra-long-grain, fragrant Basmati rice layered meticulously with deeply marinated, succulent meats or vibrant vegetables. Infused with a royal bouquet of saffron, green cardamom, cloves, and caramelized onions, the dish is sealed tightly and slow-cooked over a gentle flame using the time-honored "dum" method. This airtight steaming process traps every ounce of flavor, allowing the meat to become melt-in-your-mouth tender while each grain of rice absorbs the rich, aromatic essence of the spices. It is not just a meal; it is a celebration of texture, aroma, and culinary artistry.

"Bistec / Steak was great and the Al Pastor / Pork with Pineapple and Onions were super great too. Kinda like minced pork with pineapples. Portions are pretty big. The sauces they give are really fresh and the black beans and rice just may be the best in town. I will defs order again and you should too"
"My husband and I used to love this place. It was the best in Monmouth county. It used to be so flavorful.. Unfortunately, now I don't know if they lost kitchen staff or if they're catering to a different demographic, but there's no taste like before. The quality went down. No heat, dry food ...Chimichanga was terrible.. It wasn't fried they placed it on a dry flour. Tortilla with no fillings but the meat and a slab of cheddar on top. They didn't fry itat all"

"Posting a late review, but I've somehow become a regular here. I absolutely love their sambhar—every dish is full of authentic South Indian flavor. They even offer sambhar as a standalone takeaway, which is a favorite of mine.
Once, I requested no pongal or sheera in my mini thali via DoorDash. They actually called me to confirm and kindly replaced them with extra vada and idli. That level of service really stood out. Overall, great food and excellent takeaway service!"

"I asked for lamb tikka bc I didn't see it on the menu and they made it for me!! It was DELICIOUS so tender and flavorful. A little on the spicy side for me but I just dipped my yummy buttered naan bread in, to cut the spiciness. It worked like a charm ! "
"The food was good, freshly made. Chicken 999 was very tasty. Chicken tikka masala also tasted good, but I would request them to lower the sweetness just a little bit. Goat biryani quantity was good, the meat was very tender and succulent. The flavor of garam masala was just a bit strong. "

"We are completely disappointed with the service and food of this restaurant. Firstly, they have the item in the order without our notice. We ordered chicken dum biryani and they repalced it with chicken Fried rice. Fried rice which was sent was stale and it smelling awful.
Secondly,Egg noodles and Chicken soup were also smelling bad.

"This was the first time that I've tried pani puri and it was pretty good! I liked the slight spice in the liquid and the filling was aromatic. You have to put the sauce on it altogether though to complete it. The chicken masala wrap had a buttery paratha (?) and the filling was pretty soft/mushy, but there were bits of onion that helped and the flavor was really good with good spice. This chai is probably the most authentic that I've had (not saying much), sweet, warm, and spiced. "
"Sandwhich was not spicy at all. No flavor but the bread was really good.

"This was our second order from Clove Garden. Once again, they were so conscientious and caring in how they made our order. They cooked my Tamarind Eggplant special to keep it 100% gluten-free. Normally, the eggplant is breaded and deep-fried but they pan fried it for me without any flour. Everything was delicious again! I do need to warn others here that DoorDash sometimes makes up inaccurate descriptions or mismatches pictures. The Plain Uttappam is really plain. There are no tomatoes, onions and chilis. A couple of the supposedly vegan dishes like Kadai Vegetable had paneer added. That seems to be on the restaurant. Maybe because I also had ordered dairy? I'm looking forward to visiting the restaurant in person to dine in. They do an excellent job packing up the food and delivering it very hot, but it would be so much nicer to eat unreal plates."

"favorite local indian take out, always recommend to others. the Garlic Naan & Paneer Butter Masala are delicious. glad they finally added the feature to order drinks through door dash. just wish they were more consistent with the Samosa filling & they do not always include sauce with them, which is disappointing when you dont get it. "
"This is my only favorite place for biryani.
Freshest most authentic and best tasting dum biryani ever in entire NJ!
I have been to several places in NJ, no other biryani can match its authentic flavor and quality!
But the reason for 4 stars is because type of chicken pieces has changed. I have given the feedback about chicken pieces to the owner once when I was dining in. I have told manager the same thing.
Seems like you are now cutting corners. Please don’t do this. Don’t ruin it for me or any other Bone-in chicken biryani lover. Don’t ruin it for yourself if customer satisfaction matters to you.
Once again, this used to be undoubtedly the best biryani one could get in NJ. But not anymore just because you have changed the type of pieces to mediocre, small, less meat more bony ones. No other biryani could come close to its taste, it’s authenticity and the quality!
It still brings me right to home!
Because of the taste and authenticity.
But please change back or improve the type of chicken pieces to more traditionally premium pieces like, breast, thigh and drumstick.
Instead of the ones you put In now.
It’s like the leftover pieces. The unwanted pieces.
Thank you in Advance!"

" Chicken Tikka Masala Special is amazing!!! Basmati Rice just perfect!! Gar ic Naan great! I can say enough great things about these place. My new favorite. Big portions and very fair prices.
I'm glad I took the chance and order from this restaurant. You won't be disappointed"
"We sampled their menu via takeout - The reasons I find this to be some of the best Indian food in Monmouth County right now is that they don’t add sugar to everything, they don’t skimp on traditional spices, and it’s clean on the palate, meaning even the fried options are not greasy. When the food is prepared with respect, it shows. I don’t understand some other reviews - our portions were generous, and for an average price we had plenty of leftovers. The samosa chaat street food blew our minds there was so much goodness going on, the variety in texture, temperature, taste was all there - and I was delighted to find a paneer biryani - something most Indian restaurants don’t bother to offer. I’m a traditionalist - I’m always happy to find whole cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, plums and tamarind in my biryanis. Even the side dish of jasmine rice is tasty. Makes we want to go back and try the desserts. I would compare the food of Taj to the upscale Indian restaurant in Red Bank, Bombay River, with more options and not as expensive. Just a delight. Welcome and please stay in Hazlet! We need you. 💗"

"I ordered the HYDERABADI CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI expecting to get at the very minimum three pieces of chicken in it. Normally when you order this dish you receive at least a drumstick and thigh at the very least, plus they're usually a decent size/portion if it's only going to be two pieces. Unfortunately this order came with just one reg thigh and a smaller thigh which I found odd and I was slightly annoyed by it. I did appreciate that they kept the onions and lime wrapped on the side instead of putting it on top of the rice like other restaurants do. All in all the biriyani was good, I just wish it had more chicken in the order obviously or at least larger pieces."
"ordered spicy but the Andhra Chicken Curry (Boneless) was almost flavor less. the quantity of curry was lesser than other indian restaurants and the amount of chicken was really small. I would not order again because it was disappointing."

"The Chicken Kathi Roll roll was good. The spice level was perfect. Taste it fresh and I would order it again however, I wish they had more meat in the roll itself."
"The entire order was delicious. Very flavorful.
We had medium spice level, and there is some heat to it. Was the perfect level for us.
The VEGETABLE SAMOSA (2Pcs.) was the bomb. So flavorful with the sauces.
CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA very tender and spicy.
CHICKEN BIRYANI flavorful, lots of chicken, not just rice. I was impressed.
The Dal Makhani was thinner than I expected, and that's not a bad thing. Complimented the rest of the items nicely.
Note: If you don't like spicy, get the mild.
I am not sure what the white sauce is called. Looked like there were small yellow beans of some sort. Not the typical cucumber sauce.
Highly recommend."

"Hands down one of the best places I’ve eaten! Every bite was packed with flavor, the portions were generous, and the service was outstanding. The burgers and crispy seasoned fries were absolutely incredible. Amazing quality at a great price—I can’t wait to come back!"
"I had the Butter Chicken Panini at Gully Kitchen Express, and it was absolutely delicious. The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, while the panini was toasted to perfection with a crispy exterior and soft interior. It’s a unique combination that I would definitely order again.
A special shoutout to Tushar Paul, the owner, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. He took the time to answer my questions, made great recommendations, and ensured we had an excellent experience. The combination of amazing food and outstanding customer service makes Gully Kitchen Express a place I highly recommend. Looking forward to coming back!"

"Food is usually good. A little skimpy on the soup portion, considering the cost, but at least it's good."
"The naan was good and so was the samosas. But the goat Rogan josh was mostly bones in a very thin gravy. It definitely wasn't worth the price. The butter chicken gravy had a good flavor, but the chicken was dry. Again, not worth the price. The bhindi Masala had very little okra in it, but plenty of other, cheaper vegetables. For the price, not worth it. The malai kofta was good, but again, for the price - the portion was small. The kheer was too thin and runny. Just about everything seemed watered down, like they are trying to stretch the portions. Finally, the lassi tasted as if the yogurt was slightly spoiled. Not appetizing. At least they got the naan and samosas right. I think it will be a long time before I order from them again, if ever."

"Really happy with my first order from here... Samosas (2 Pcs) were great, Chana Masala chickpeas were perfectly cooked, and Chicken Biriyani rice was fluffy and the chicken pieces were super tender. And shout out to whoever packed the Plain Naan, which was still perfect when it arrived even though my driver delivered another order before mine. Top notch naan packaging!"
"The Samosa Chat was great- flavorful and as described though a little smaller than I receive from most places. The Tandoori Mix Veg did not have any paneer cheese, which was listed in the item description. This was my main meal, so this was very disappointing. If I knew that, I would've ordered something else. The Butter Garlic Naan was good!"

"Greta food quality and taste. The best Veg place in the 5-10 mile radius "
"Very disappointing food. The Hakka noodles had a bad smell and were extremely salty. The spring rolls seemed to have been fried at very high heat, so they were browned on the outside but still raw inside. Overall, the food was poorly prepared and not enjoyable at all."

"This is the best Indian food in the area. HANDS DOWN! The naan bread is so good and you get a decent portion of it unlike other places. I also got the chicken makhni medium and it's the best I've had ever. Chicken is cooked perfectly. If you can't handle spicy I strongly suggest you get mild and not medium. I enjoyed and will be ordering again. "
"Everything was delicious as always but Vegetable Samosa (2) were missing. Instead another app was included. Not as good as the samosas but first time ever a mixup. Chicken Makhni was amazing and Shrimp Tandoori were very good and good sized but pricey for the number you get. "
