I got the Bacon Cheeseburger, as well as the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Both sandwiches were *fairly* warm, but the fries were undercooked, soft and without flavor. The sandwich contents were dry and unfortunately lacked decent flavoring as well. If you’re looking for an extremely average burger, this is a good option for you.
I only live 2 miles away from this place, so usually my food retains its heat on the drive home. I don’t want to rate Sal’s only 1 star, but I think more attention to detail and some tweaking to their overall standards would go far, because these baskets were simply not worth the 30-some-dollars I paid. "These folks are just the best. I had ordered Alicha a couple of weeks ago, and they ran out, so they subbed in the Tibs. Let me tell you it's hard to pick between the two dishes now.
Anyway, Alicha won the eenie meenie miney moe yesterday, and even at an odd hour, the food was just stunning. Every time, they're consistently making delicious meals. Every bite has at least four flavor profiles, and they sing in perfect harmony.
Like, I think the injira is made the old-fashioned way so it's got that nice, almost citrus sour to it, and then you whack the meats and the veggies and the red stuff (I'm so sorry I don't know what it's called) onto it, and you've got yourself the best, most complex thing you're going to eat this year.
And it's - dare I say - affordable. Anyway. As a New Yorker originally, I know the restaurant business is brutal, and I hope they are able to pass this restaurant down through generations. The work deserves longevity."

"I’ve always been a loyal customer of this restaurant, but I was extremely disappointed with my order last Thursday. I ordered fufu, plantains, and soup—and the experience was far from what I expected.
First, the plantains were burnt (see photo attached), the fufu had a strange smell—like it had either overstayed or wasn’t stored/handled properly, giving off that unpleasant odor of food just about to go bad. As for the soup, it contained very little meat, and there was no variety—it was mostly just chicken. I was so disappointed I ended up having bread and milk for dinner instead."

"I forgot to take a pic of the Puerro / Leeks - Gluten-Free empanada, but it was really good! The Fugazetta Pizza Gluten-Free was described as a pan-style, but to me it seemed more like a delicious cheesy bread style pizza. Admittedly I could only eat 2 slices after the leek filled empanada, but that just means more for lunch tomorrow.
Now the Flan is what really made me decide to order from Boludo. The presentation is so cute with the lid concealing the the candied pecans. The hint of cinnamon pairs perfectly with the custard & caramel topping of the flan!
