"A Taste of Home in Augusta – 5 Stars! I moved from South Florida to Augusta, GA a few years ago and had yet to find a Haitian restaurant—until now! I was so excited when I saw a post on Facebook about a new Haitian spot in town. Being homesick for that authentic flavor, I had to give it a try, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint! The food made me feel right at home. The plantains had the perfect balance of soft and crispy—absolutely out of this world. The rice was so flavorful, it didn’t even need sauce. And the pikliz with the griot? A match made in heaven! I’m beyond excited to keep coming back for more and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real, delicious Haitian food. "1st time visit to Taqueria El Rey, I ordered the Burrito El Chapo and I was blown away. This is not a regular burrito, this thing is big. Roughly 4 inches wide, 7 inches long and almost an inch thick. Steak, shrimp and bacon with refried beans, rice and sour cream in a flour tortilla drenched in white queso. Insanely good. It's so good, that 1 week has past, I gave in and used doordash for the first time. Just got the order and the burrito is the exact same size as the one I had at the restaurant. Tastes just as amazing and prompted me to write my first review. Three firsts and I struck gold with an amazing burrito. Highly recommended. "

"I ordered from here for the first time because we were not able to make it to the cultural festival as planned and my brother's friend had been looking forward to the possibility of eating Pupusas. I havent had a pupusa in years so we ordered several of those and I also ordered the Quesabirrias (3) because my mom and I enjoy those and dont have them regularly. The food arrived quickly and was still hot and fresh. I meant to take pictures but everything was passed out and consumed too quickly! If you don't like a lot of beans(like my mom) order the pupusas with just cheese and meat/or veg. My brothers friend devoured the pupusas very quickly and was very happy with them. I was originally disappointed with the amount of consumme that came with the Quesabirrias (3) but in the end it was plenty and the green sauce that came with it was an excellent addition so we were 100% happy with the meal and would definitely recommend it.
