"I only ordered the lentil soup at Vivel because I was stuck at work with a broken-down car, absolutely desperate for a mocha, and it felt a little odd to just order a drink. The soup was reasonably priced, so I added it almost as an afterthought — and then it completely stole the show.
From the first spoonful, it was incredibly flavorful, with a depth and warmth that tasted slow-simmered and carefully layered rather than thrown together. Instead of the common gritty texture lentils often have, this was silky, hearty, and beautifully smooth, so each bite felt indulgent rather than “healthy punishment.” I was pleasantly shocked at how satisfying it was; the portion was so generous and filling that I could only finish half of it at lunch and actually looked forward to attacking the rest for dinner.

"Really the worst food we have ever had from Rudy's. The brisket was so incredibly salty and dry and the pork had a really funny taste to it. Saving grace was potato salad and banana pudding. The coleslaw tasted a bit spoiled as well. We used to love Rudy's but it has gone downhill lately. Especially for the price. "
