"I love Ethiopian food. I've tried most of the restaurants in Portland. Lalibella is a cut above all the others. Their flavors, their consistency, the freshness of proteins and produce is on point. Hands down the best Ethiopian food in Portland, IMO. We (two adults) ordered the Family combo and everything was tasty and well packaged (in plastic unfortunately). We eat big portions and we still had left overs. They send plenty of bread with delivery orders. We also ordered the samosas and wow, those are great! Their Halo-Halo utilizes quality ube ice cream and adds to the indulgent lusciousness of it all, given the cream/milk they use in the mixture. It's not loaded with added sugar either (most overdo it) but they don't need to because the ingredients they include in it end up being the star of the show, you can really taste each component. Noticed they also have the ube itself generously distributed on the sides of the cup as opposed to just having it as a topping so when you mix everything up, the ube flavor is imbued thoroughly throughout. "Honest review here. Pork adobo reminded me of back home in Hawaii. Just enough spice and flavor to compliment the rice. I've tried the chicken one before though the pork one is far superior in my opinion. The create 2 combo plate was surprisingly very good for both items that I chose mind you that's a first because most other places are hit and miss. The portions were good for the price as well. I chose the chicken enchilada which Iwas happy to see they actually have shredded chicken made from scratch and I also chose the chili relleno which was good as well. Their rice is made perfect and not over cooked as well as the refried beans are made in house it seems because it tasted authentic to me versus other places I've tried in the past.
