"They literally have the best Butter Chicken and Butter Naan I have had while traveling for work. if you love Indian food, I would recommend eating here. Every time I'm in town, I always order from here. It's amazing and the best in town, hands down!!!"
"I'm actually baffled at how much I was given, how well it was packaged, and how good it was?! I have a friend that makes it for me, and I am very picky.. but newly post partum, THIS DID IT. This was phenomenal. I even saved half just so everyone can try a bite (which was HARD to share!) chicken biryani & the garlic naan was TOP NOTCH.
The picture does not do it justice."

"I ordered the Maharani Dinner (Vegetarian for 2) and it was...DYNAMITE!! I am a lover of Middle Eastern cuisine, most especially Indian, and I'm very familiar with Indian food and India Star is probably the best I have ever had. The Malai Kofta was creamy and sublime. This is my very favorite dish and India Star's version is the best ever, and I've eaten Malai Kofta from at least 7 states, close to 3 dozen Indian restaurants, still Indian Star beats them all The vegetable torpedoes (that's what my crew call them) still had a subtle but still detectable crispness to the outside and the firm, delicious center was the perfect texture and explodes with savory flavor. The fragrant sauce has a cheesy, nutty flavor that is hearty and indulgent. the pakora and samosa appetizers, lentil soup, naan, really everything was delicious and gets 11 out of 10 stars. Ok, confession time. I ordered dinner for 2 yet I was the only one eating! I'm not sorry, India Star has been my goto for 30+ years!"
"First time ordering Indian food and this is SO good. Super good portions too i defI did mhave leftovers. M edium heat on the Chicken Makhani and it has a good nice heat to it. The hot option for sure would've been super spicy. Garlic Naan was super good and a good garlic flavor "

"Yes, the butter chicken is on the spicy side...which I like. It was excellent. Best garlic naan I've ever had and the Julab Jamun is very good as well. Sweet and light."
"Our food was pretty delicious, but we were disappointed in the amount of chicken included in the butter chicken and also the amount of paneer in the paneer masala. It was mostly just sauce in both, and it doesn't seem like a good value for $15+ each. The biryani and the paneer 555 were both delicious and a better value than the other entrees. "

"The Butter Chicken is my favorite item on the menu. I've tried other Indian restaurants in Des Moines, and flavor wise, this is the best butter chicken in my opinion. I do wish they added a bit more chicken pieces, or offered the option to add more chicken for an extra fee. The Naan bread is the fluffiest! The mango lassi was delicious. I do recommend this restaurant."

"First time trying this place and theTikka Boti was really flavorful and came woth a good portion of chicken, a little salad, and some rice. "I've had Chicken Tikka Masala with onions in it before but this one was unique with green peppers and tomatoes as well. Mango Lassi had the perfect consistency and wasn't overly sweet. The Garlic Naan was slightly crispy. Everything was delicious! Ate half and had the rest the next day."
"Butter Chicken was good but I've had better, this tasted mass produced not very fresh the Garlic Naan was VERY garlicky but the Plain Rice seemed fresh. This order fed 2 grown adults with extra left over. I'd order again if other places were closed but it won't be my first choice for Indian food."

I placed a catering order for my company event recently and not only the owner gave a great pricing, they offered to set it up for free. Awesome family owned business. This is my goto spot for great fresh food."
"food came nicely and warm. However, quantity/portion has gone down since they first opened. flavour wasn't truly there for the food. Overall was a disappointed meal.
Goat Curry was very small for such a price. Asked to get extra spicy. Doesn't seem to be any different.
Paneer Tikka was extremely dry. The Paneer was like rubber. Non sponginess that you get from typical paneer. They were burnt. Green pepper weren't. very small portion for such price point.
Mango Lassi was good as always.
Naan was a mess. some burnt worse than other. about 50% of the 2 naans were just crunchy like crackers... what!!!
Tandoori Roti was moist and good."

"I order from here almost weekly and have it delivered to work. The pad Thai with chicken is SERIOUSLY good!! Beware of the spice scale, a 4-5 is pretty good heat. They always pack the containers full, I am totally satisfied with the portion size and it is only $15 after a driver tip. Fair price, excellent food, highly recommend!!"
"Food was very good. But $11 for a 5 piece roll (birthday roll) and $8 for 2 pieces of spring rolls is criminal. If you're going to order from here I would stay away from the apps and the special sushi rolls - you get very little for a lot of money compared to other nearby places. "Peanut noodles medium spice. Sauce on top of noodles that was not enough to coat all the noodles when mixed. I selected
Tofu for the protein and there were 5 pieces. Only a few veggies. So, essentially it was a bland bowl of plain noodles with a little heat (spice) to it. Overly priced for what was received. I rarely give poor reviews. I'm giving it 3 starts because it was hot and freshly made and restaurants cannot always be perfect . "This place will wow you! The flavor, portions and price were all perfect. The General Tsao's Chicken is not as sweet and syrupy as you get at other places. It's also fried hard. Both of those were pluses for me. Most people can probably tolerate a 3 spice level. I prefer the 4. Every element of the Combination Fried Rice was well prepared. The beef was not that gray chewy stuff you get other places. It was beautifully seared and flavorful. The shrimp were larger than average and not overcooked. They were well seasoned too. Do yourself a favor and try this place."

"The El Patron Platter Special was a perfect blend of delicious proteins and vegetables in a creamy cheese sauce. The rice was cooked to perfection. It was an amazing medley in the mouth. The portion was more than generous. It also came with very soft tortillas and a bag of chips and salsa. Will definitely reorder."
"Everytime i eat there or door dash its incredible! I usually get it for lunch during work but sometimes on the weekends even though it's a bit of a drive from home I bring my family out here. And they enjoyed it as much as I do! There is always warm and fresh. And all the portions are huge! My favorite plate from them is the parilladas. But their huevos a la mexicana are to die for!"

"$70 for dinner and the portion sizes are very small, paid dinner prices and looks like lunch or kid's size meals! The seasame chicken was dry and had no sauce on it. "Steak is DRY over cooked and extremely tough. The kids chicken is also extremely dry and there was no sauce included for the rice. Overall disappointing. Also 3 very small squares of fried cheesecake is a waste of $6 not even a full slice.

"The staff has always been friendly and understanding. The restaurant is clean with a good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
My favorite dishes are the Yellow Curry/Rice and Red Curry/Rice . The Thai Ice Tea has always been amazing and is a nice treat with the other dishes."
"This was my first time trying this restaurant this evening. I moved to the South Side this spring and didn't feel like going out west for dinner.
The Pad Thai was very, very filling and delicious. The fried rice came in a huge serving. I wish it was just a pinch less salty but it truly was the best I've had from a Thai restaurant.
Decided to pick it up myself & got it in 20 minutes after ordering on a Friday. Definitely will be coming back!"

"Speed of delivery, food temp, food packaging were all great but the food itself was terribly bland specifically the Pad See Ew. The egg rolls were nice and warm but had very little stuffing inside of it - it was mainly egg roll wrapper wrapped within itself. Highly dissatisfied. I ended up throwing most of it away in the garbage. "

"I got the Mixed Plate Classic. The meats were so tender and packed full of flavor. The portions were big and I only got the reg size plate. The rice was nice and fresh, not hard like you get from some places. The macaroni salad was delicious and I am picky about my macaroni salad. I also got the Mini Pineapple Strawberry Twist Dole Soft Serve®and it was so good and refreshing. I could live off this food. LOL Definitely ordering again."
"Tried the Pineapple Luau Slider Single for the first time... I nearly cried. The meat was literally perfect, it wasn't over-filled, and not stacked high with filler. And the flavor! Oh my days the flavor! It has the tiniest of bites but then has a sweet taste too, so you get almost a candied-like flavoring with extremely mild heat. I think this is going to be my new go-to."

They made it extra spicy, as requested and they did not hesistate to load it up with plenty of chicken! "This BBQ is top notch. If you like moist brisket THIS IS THE PLACE. Consistently excellent brisket is one of the hardest challenges for a BBQ restaurant. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is outstanding as well. The pork is very good, but pulled pork is an easier meat to find done right. The price is more expensive than fast food(really not that much any more), but an excellent dinner option when you want real quality. The beans and coleslaw are wonderful side choices. The cornbread is a little crumbly for my taste, but authentic to their style."

"Always love getting the Dinner Grill Meal! Arrives hot and fresh like literally off the grill! Always delicious and never a complaint! Serving size is perfect! Hu Hot is delicious!"
"I've ordered from here a few times, and I think from now on, I will only go in person. (1) When you ask for chew mein as a topping, don't expect to get "3" of anything. I bet I had 15 pieces of crunchy noodles. I always get the same for 3 as for 1 serving. I asked for "2" of the water chestnuts (you can pick 8 items). I might have 2 partial water chestnuts in the entire container. Asked for "2" of the bamboo shoots- I have zero. My styrofoam to go container was about 1/3 full. Almost no meat in it. It's been not great at times, but this is by far the worst meal I've ever received. It's so weird that it tastes like nothing but celery and peppers... you can't tell there is anything else in it. Just- not good. I won't be dashing it again.
I did order the chicken strips and fries, and those were good, but definitely not enough ketchup in the little cup for everything.
The crab rangoons were good, but again- one cup of sauce for 7 rangoons? The cup is 2 tablespoons. Come on.
I feel like I got $7 worth of edible food for $50. :-("
