"We tried Starbucks for the very first time back on October 15, 2025. We said we would try them again despite being somewhat disappointed that first time. So this morning we tried them again and we are starting to learn how to order what it is we want...we are not Venti kind of people. We are more like Extra Large kind of folks, but we are learning!
Anyhow, we ordered a Venti Green Iced Tea with ice and water, but the extra water made the tea a little too weak, so we learned not to do that again. The ice, however, was nice! And the flavor was good and will be better suited to our tastebuds when we order it next time without extra water (IOW, stronger).
Now for the food items: DELICIOUS!!! We loved our Petite Vanilla Bean Scone and the not as little Cinnamon Coffee Cake . Next time, though, we will order 2 of each because they really are small portions. Starbucks did not misrepresent the sizes of these items, but they were nonetheless smaller than anticipated. We loved our entire order this time and as we learn the lingo, we will get the right sizes and right quantities for ourselves.
Small portions, but fresh with delightful flavor, so we will be ordering again from our local Starbucks.

"This was our first time EVER trying something from a Starbucks. We are not coffee drinkers and we thought Starbucks was all about coffee...we were wrong! WOW! Such an array of drinks and food choices. Fabulous! What wasn't fabulous, however, was the breakfast sandwich we ordered.
First, we thought our Iced Green Tea would come with ice. It didn't, so when it arrived without ice, we were a bit perplexed. Now we know to order ice for our iced tea! Who knew?? 🥴
But the real disappointment was the Breakfast Bacon, Gouda & Egg Sandwich The bun was fresh and we liked it! The Gouda was delicious! The Egg was fine. But the bacon was very disappointing. There were two thin, short pieces of bacon, stacked on top of each other, leaving half the sandwich without any bacon whatsoever. Despite the two strips, we still couldn't taste the bacon and it was only on half the sandwich because the two thin pieces were stacked. Please, Starbucks, add more bacon or provide an option to add more bacon at an additional cost. So for the disappointing sandwich, we have to give only a moderately positive rating.
We'll try this business again sometime, hoping they can increase the bacon on the sandwich or offer the customer a chance to add bacon at an additional fee.
We will say the order arrived quickly and the sandwich was in a separate bag, so it was still warm on this chilly autumn morning. And everything was then placed into a larger bag with a cupholder inside, making the whole meal easy to get into the house. Our Dasher was Sixing, so a "thank you" to him, as well, for a quick delivery.
To reiterate, we would have given this meal a 5-star rating if the sandwich had more bacon, allowing us to actually TASTE bacon on a Bacon, Gouda & Egg Sandwich . The bun was "bunderful" and the egg was "eggxactly" what we hoped for, but the bacon was practically missing-in-action. And we'll order ice for our Iced Green Tea next time. 🤔"

"We were reminiscing about the good old days when toll over the Golden Gate Bridge was 25 cents and Abner Doubleday was pitching for the San Francisco Seals and the polio epidemic was being eliminated through EFFECTIVE vaccines. We may have gotten some of our facts wrong, but we were thinking about how good those hot dogs were at the ball park. So we decided to order a Hot Dog with all the fixings from April May's Drive Thru Coffee.
The Hot Dog was so big, we could nearly use it to message the length of our Pinocchio-like noses. It came with all the fixings like from the old days at Seals Stadium, and as nearly as inexpensive as the toll over the Golden Gate Bridge and when a quarter was considered a good tip. The Dog came with condiments, chips, and a drink. Definitely a bargain, as if from days gone by.
So if you are waxing sentimental, or just want a good bargain, give April May's Drive Thru Coffee a visit or a DoorDash and see what we mean for yourselves.

The Caesar Salad w/Chicken didn't skimp on anything. Plenty of chicken, croutons, real shedded parmesan, (not just some old dried up crumbs like in our cheese shaker in our kitchen), and fresh Romaine lettuce. Salad dressing tied everything together. We ate this meal like starving people, which we aren't (starving, we mean - we are people, not bots).
We tried a Pure Leaf (brand name) Raspberry Iced Tea with our lunch, also from The Whistle Stop. Arrived cold, and very complementary to the salad. We should have ordered another because you-can-guess-who drank more than his fair share.
We are stuffed, content, and someday we have got to start shopping & cooking again. Someday.
