"I moved from UC 10+ years ago.I always had great memories of this place. Recently I was in the area and returned to HOD with some friends. I'm so so happy that my memories about the quality of their food is real. I forgot how tasty their hot sauce is, I love that stuff, I have GERD, but I don't care!!. the Chicken Dumplings with Green Chives韭菜鸡肉水饺 and Vegetarian Dumplings素菜水饺 are fresh and they are filling. I think I will be stopping here whenever I am back in the bay."
"There were some good things here. The pot stickers were very good and the Three Flavor Dumplings were excellent.
On the flip side the Wonton Soup was disappointing. The broth was good, the number of wontons (8) was fine and I liked the mini bok choy but that's was all there was to the soup. There were no pieces of carrot or mushrooms or any other items. Also the serving size was small. It was on sale two for one which was good but the normal price is way too high for the quality and serving size. I wouldn't order this again at the regular price
Lastly the chicken chow mein was also a mixture of good and bad. The color was really dark brown. I've never seen chow mein so dark. That's neither good nor bad, just interesting. A good thing was the taste and tge noodles weren't dry. On the downside it was very oily, and the number of ingredients was limited. There were no mushrooms or cabbage or green onions. The chicken pieces were small and not enough. Lastly the portion size was small. It's not a good value unless on sale. I wouldn't order it again

I sometimes make the mistake of eating at/ordering from some other Thai restaurant, but get burnt so badly in taste and flavor that I end up going to Sala Thai within a week to cleanse my palate (happened most recently last week when I ordered from LeMoose Crepery since I wanted their chocolate crepe for dessert - horrible red curry compared to Sala Thai's rich and creamy Red Curry.
