"So I've stopped getting Popeye's after awhile. I wanted to come back again and try it after about a year, sad to say it still has that miss. When I have the tenders sometimes they taste great and then there's parts of the chicken that almost taste expired (as best as I can describe it). I can tell that because the parts that do taste good are crispy and easy to eat and the parts that are bad are really hard to chew.
The fries on the other hand are always consistent and great but that's not what Popeye's are about. I used to have Popeye's when I was feeling like a filling meal because the prices are good for that. Now it doesn't feel the same. Swiss Chalet is a childhood memory of mine, so it’s incredible to reflect on how much things can change over the years. The meal itself was satisfying and well packed, although cutlery and butter for the rolls were missing.
I understand that running a business these days is challenging, and I appreciate that there are many factors that go into the cost of a meal. At the same time, it has become increasingly difficult to justify paying the price for only one of the same meal, especially when circumstances have changed so much.
I don’t eat Swiss Chalet anymore, so having it again was a genuinely nice experience. It brought back a little piece of nostalgia and reminded me of simpler times. For that reason alone, I’m glad I had the opportunity to enjoy it again."
