"My boyfriend is working out of town & LOVES Indian food, so based on the high reviews I decided to Door Dash him some lunch. He loves vegetables, so I chose the Biryani w/mixed vegetables & ADDED lamb (rather than just lamb biryani), hoping to get the best of both worlds. I also ordered it "medium" spice level because sometimes the spice at these places is too much & I figured better safe than sorry. Well, the dish was overall a big disappointment in that there were literally TWO small pieces of lamb (that I paid EXTRA for!!), and there was no spice level (heat) AT ALL!! He said the food was delicious, but a huge disappointment because there was no heat & I paid extra for almost nothing!! He wanted to try again, but to ask a couple questions first. I called today & the man that answered the phone said "uh huh" when I asked a question about the lamb, then hung up on me!! "I recently ordered from Alif, especially on Eid day, as I was expecting a good biryani experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing. I ordered beef tehari (beef biryani) along with rice pudding. The rice pudding seemed old and spoiled—the rice was already breaking down and melting, which made it unpleasant to eat.
As for the beef biryani, it was supposed to contain a decent amount of beef, but I only found 3–4 very small pieces of meat. Even worse, the biryani was completely tasteless. There was no aroma or flavor at all—just plain rice with almost no seasoning.What they show on the online menu and what I actually received were completely different. The presentation and portion did not match at all.Overall, this was one of the worst biryanis I’ve ever had. It felt like a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone who truly loves biryani."

It is quite honestly the BEST my husband and I have ever had, with all our travels combined!!Our toddler and two older children thoroughly finished their plates , and my oldest came back for more of my butter chicken(PHENOMENAL!!!) just so he could dip more of the naan into the sauce. The butter chicken is my personal favorite. The lamb is cooked to perfection, and I strongly recommend trying all the varieties of naan along with your meal. Desserts are perfectly portioned and the value is incredible. The staff is so kind and know how to expeditiously prep your order.

"We got Lamb Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Channa Masala, and Chicken 65. The lamb had a very bad smell and the taste was off. The top was filled with oil and had a metallic taste. "WOW this is truly authentic middle eastern cooking and haven't been reminded of this charbroiled flavor since being overseas. My family is Iraqi so I've had tons of different middle eastern food until now and this is by far my favorite. #1 spot out of Shelby Twp, Sterling Heights, and Dearborn food by far. BBQ meats taste amazing but charbroiled is another level and layer of flavor. The Charbroiled Whole Chicken / دجاجة على الفحم is butterflied and then grilled which is served over two options of rice. Never had whole grilled chicken like that before and is so delicious. I enjoyed the brown rice (beryani style) and yellow rice very much, but the beryani style was a perfect balance of peppered and Mediterranean seasonings. Honestly better than I've had at holiday gatherings, they killed it! We also had the combo tray for 4 and it was served over pita bread fresh off the grill. I really enjoyed the kabob and cream chop. The cream chop came crispy and tasted like it just got cooked seconds ago and I have never gotten cream chop to go that wasn't soggy. Delicious. The food came in aluminum trays with a layer of saran wrap so the food came piping hot when it arrived and I live pretty far. Bringing the food inside, I could barely carry it because that's how much food you get and even the packaging was hot to the touch. The portions are HUGE and for a great price. The presentation on the Charbroiled Whole Chicken / دجاجة على الفحم was actually really nice too. Can't beat the flavor, price, and portions so it's a win-win-win for me."

"Not bad but, not great. Ive been craving Chicken Biryani so I thought I'd try it. Flavored was good, spicy was nice (I ordered mild and it still had a little kick) but it was incredibly dry. The cucumber raita was nice too. Garlic Naan was delicious but lacking the buttery top as seen in the pictures. The Vegetable Samosa was REALLY what I was craving but they were disappointing. Not the traditional samosas I've had before. The samosa dough wasn't the same and the filling I've had in the past had chunks of potato and peas. This was not spiced and it has maybe 2 peas and no potato. Nonetheless, it was good enough for work lunch and there is plenty to take home for later. A solid 7.5/10"
